Van Gerwen wins Premier League
There were no upsets in this year's Premier League Play-Offs and the results confirmed the final table.
Head of the table Michael van Gerwen had no problems at all in the first semi-final to beat fourth of the table Adrian Lewis and never was really challenged. Some more problems had the second of the table Phil Taylor against third of the table Gary Anderson in the second semi-final. In the end Taylor - who showed the better perfomance and was less nervous then Anderson - won the match.
As expected van Gerwen prevailed in the final againstTaylor though the statistics looked very similar for the majority of the match. But Taylor played not quite as strong as van Gerwen and beside made a few errors which the Dutchman promptly punished. So van Gerwen deservedly won his second Premier League title.
