Taylor wins World Matchplay
The Blackpool fairytale had a happy end for Phil Taylor: with a 18:8 win over Peter Wright Phil Taylor secured himself his 16. World Matchplay title. At the start it had been a very close match between Taylor and Wright, but in the middle of the match Wright- though he showed a good performance - could no longer keep up as he had a lot of problems hitting his doubles. Taylor was much more consistent and took command.
Taylor has dominated the World Matchplay for many years. That he was able to win it for a last time in the last year of his career was richly deserved. He was the outstanding player of this year's tournament.

Van Gerwen wins title

Regrettably the final of the World Championship was not really thrilling - mainly because Gary Anderson didn't hit a single high finish and too often missed his doubles in crucial legs. So Michael van Gerwen defeated him deservedly 7:3 and won the World Champion title after 2014 for a second time

PDC Weltmeisterschaft - Semi-Finals
In two thrillling semi-finals Gary Anderson and Michael van Gerwen prevailed and will now meet tomorrow in the final.
Peter Wright in the first semi-final never could find the form of his previous matches and though it was a close match Gary Anderson's win never was in real danger. The second semi-final followed a similar pattern. Till the 2:2 Raymond van Barneveld played as outstanding as Michael van Gerwen but then was no longer able to keep pace with the world number 1.
