Well it has been awhile but it is a exciting week for American darts with Dartslive bring Stage 7 of the WORLD to the USA and hosting the US Open. You could make upwards of $17,000 US if you had the weekend of your life :) The best part is the entry was only $300 and that includes 3 nights hotel and entry fees as well as a free pool party with beverages....can not beat that deal!!!
People think going to the NDA or the Bullshooter is a good time but you pay way more to make 10% of this prize fund. Now you will also get to see most of the best soft tip players from all over the world not just guys that think they are ;) Will be players from Russia, Britian, Spain, China, Philippines, Japan, Canada and the USA.
This event really is the beginning of a new time in darts in the USA and the world for that matter. People always complain about how darts is but always keep doing the same thing but that is where Dartslive is different... they are different. It is not about paying money in to a national league fee that most players will never attend (minority of dart players ever go to the big finals) The big events they do have are extremely well run, do not break the bank to attend and will give some players a chance to do well for themselves. The leagues are up tp the vendor and operate as in house leagues basically which are better for everyone. They do have a Super League that is the only true Dartslive league that ends up at a big tournament and party for the players. Dartslive thought is that darts should be fun again.... Not to mention the are amazing dart boards to play on.
I am really looking to this weekend so loads of people get to see the future of darts in America and get to see truely WORLD CLASS players play the game..no drama just great matches. There will also be a exciting announcment made at Las Vegas but you will have to wait until then to hear what it is :)
This event will be my third event of the tour for me after missing the first half so it is a big deal for me to at least make the last 16 but really hoping to see a top 4 or better result. I will have Stage 8 next month back in Hong Kong as well as the IDF WORLD CUP of Soft tip darts a week after so a busy time next month. My game is stronger then it has ever been so hopefully the luck will be with me this weekend. I am playing doubles with John Part a multi-time WORLD champion of Professional Steel Darts and a brilliant soft tip player as well. It will be a fun time and I always seem to still learn something from him every time we play.
I will be one of the Pro players captaining a WORLD Gallon team event held Sunday afternoon. I do not know much about this event as normally all we do is play singles so...guess will find out along with everyone else.
I will also be doing a bunch of new interviews with all of the top players to see how they got here and what it means to play darts around the world.
