Co Stompe claims maiden win
With a 6:3 defeat of James Wade Co Stompe claimed in the third Players Championship of the New Tropicana World Series of Darts Festival
his first win since his switch to the PDC.
The Dutchman played some outstanding darts and won on his way into the final against Edwin Martin, Wayne Mardle, Adrian Lewis and Steve Beaton
In the quarterfinal he met his Dutch colleague Jelle Klaasen whom he beat as he did Matt Clark in the semifinals.
James Wade eliminated Ken MacNeil, Tony Randell and Robert Thornton and followed this with wins over Vincent van der Voort, Simon Whitlock
and Colin Lloyd.
Matt Clark had managed to defeat Phil Taylor in the quarterfinals - his run into the semifinals was his best Pro Tour result in the last two years.
Colin Lloyd for the second time stood in the semifinals of the new tournament.
After this third Players Championship all places for the World Matchplay are allocated.
Tomorrow the last tournament - the North American Darts Championship - will be played. Only North American players are allowed to take part
