South African Cameron Carolissen comes from a family of darts enthusiasts and already started to play darts when he was twelve years old. His father Matthew was very committed in youth darts and coached his son and his daughter already in young years. 2020 Carolissen for the first time took part in a darts tournament. Carolissen used the lockdown to go well prepared into the South African qualifier for the PDC World Championship 2021 - the Last Man Standing - and won it. He was drawn at his debut against Martijn Kleermaker but Kleermaker had to withdraw due to a positiv Covid test and Carolissen got a bye for the First Round. HE lost Second Round to Danny Noppert.
Cameron' sister Tayla has some international experience as well, she took part for South Africa in the WDF World Cup a few years ago.
