Russian Boris Koltsov already plays darts nationally and internationally for several years and was nominated for the Russian national team. 2014 he stood in the semi-finals of the singles of the WDF Europe Cup - his till now biggest success.
2014 Koltsov took part in the Russian qualifier for the PDC World Championship 2015 and won it. In the preliminary round of the World Championship he defeated Japanese Haruki Muramatsu but lost first round to Kevin Painter. Koltsov dominated the Eurasian Darts Tour 2016. He returned to the PDC World Championship 2017 but this time lost already in the Prelimiary Round to Dragutin Horvat. 2017 he took part in qualifying School for the first time but couldn't get a Tour Card. Together with Alexandr Oreshkin he took part for the second time in the PDC World Cup and the Russian Team reached the quarterfinals. In the WDF World Cup the same pair won 2017 the pairs event. 2018 Koltsov qualified fro the first time for a European Tour Event and again won the qualifier for the PDC World Championship. 2019 Koltsov played on the Challenge Tour and won an event. He again qualified for some European Tour events and reached the quarterfinals of a Pro Tour event. He once again qualified for the PDC World Championship and once again lost First Round.
2021 Koltsov again took part in Qualifying School and this time won the event on the final day of the European Q School. By this he secured one of the direct Tour Card. He is the first ever Russian Tour Card holder.
