Young German Nico Kurz started to play darts in 2014. 2016 he for the first time qualified for the Superleague Germany and took part in a few Development Tour events. Two times he reached the last 32. 2017 he ended the Superleague season on place eight but was eliminated in the group phase of the final. 2018 he took part without success in Qualifying School. Kurz was invited as Superleague player for the German Darts Masters, but lost a very close match to Jamie Lewis. 2019 he again was invited to the German Darts Masters and caused an upset when he defeated Gary Anderson in the first round. He lost in the quarterfinals to Peter Wright. Kurz ended the Superleague season as head of the table and qualified in the final for the PDC World Championship 2020 where he reached the Third Round at his debut. 2021 he again qualified for the PDC World Championship. This time he lost Second Round against his fellow country man Gabriel Clemens.
