Nathan Aspinall started his darts career in 2012 and from the start played in the PDC. First he
played Challenge Tour and Development Tour events. In 2015 he took part in the PDC
Qualifying School and got a Tour Card. He qualified for the UK Open in the same
year and played himself into the last 32. He reached the final of the PDC Unicorn
World Youth Championship but lost in a close match 5:6 to Max Hopp.
2017 he lost
his Tour Card but still played Challenge Tour events; he won one of those events.
2018 he again entered Qualifying School and this time got his Tour Card back. In
September he won his first Players Championship. Thanks to this win and some other
achievements on the Pro Tour he qualified for the PDC World Championship 2019.
Aspinall at his debut reached the semi-finals, but lost to Michael Smith. In March Aspinall was the surprise winner of the UK Open in Minehead
beating Rob Cross in the final throwing a 170 finish for the win. When Gary Anderson had to withdraw from Premier League due to his back problems Aspinall was one of the contenders who
replaced him but he lost his match - again to Michael Smith.
In June Aspinall won the US Darts Masters - an event of the
PDC World Series of Darts. With the exception of the World Grand Prix quarterfinal at his tournament debut the rest of 2019
was far less impressive. But Aspinall was back in the PDC World Championship 2020 where he again reached the semi-finals.
This time he lost to Michael van Gerwen. 2020 Aspinall was nominated for the first time for the Premier League and
reached the final. In 2023 he won his second TV-Major - the World Matchplay. Aspinall
lost this consistency as he was impaired already twice by injuries of his throwing arm.
