Australian Mal Cuming first appeared sporadically 2011 in tournaments in his home country. 2018 he played several events of the DPA Tour and at the end of the season sit on second place of the DPA Ranking. As the player placed first - Justin Thompson - had already qualified for the BDO World Championship 2019, Cuming qualified as well. He was not lucky with the draw - he was drawn against Justin Thompson and lost their preliminary round match 0:3.
