Ricky Evans started to play darts when he was 10 years old. His father, a county player himself, taught him everything necessary. Since 2012 Evans plays the PDC Youth/Challenge Tour but in the same year took part in the Winmau World Masters as well. In 2012 he for the first time stood in the final of a PDC Youth Tour event.
2013 Evans registered for the PDC Qualifying School and on the very first day won himself a Tour Card. He managed to win enough price money in the UK Open Qualifiers to take part in the tournament but lost first round. Two times Evans reached the finals of PDC Challenge Tour Events and once he stood in a semi-final, he was the runner-up of the PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship where he lost to Michael Smith. Beside he qualified for two of the European Tour Events. 2013 Evans qualified by the Pro Tour oder of Merit for the PDC World Championship but lost first round. 2016 he returned to the stage of the Alexandra Palace as he did in 2017, 2019 and 2020. In 2020 Evans reached the third round. His best run so far in a televised event Evans had in 2019 when he reached the quarterfinals of the European Championship.
