Kai Gotthardt played in 2013 on the PDC Challenge Tour and in 2015 on the Development Tour where he reached once a quarterfinal. 2016 he first tried his luck in the PDC Qualifying School with out success. He tried it again in 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2024 with the same result. Gotthardt played on the WDF circuit as well. 2020 he qualified for the first time for the PDC Europe Super League as he did again in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 and improved every year. 2023 he reached the semi-finals.
In 2024 he won the event and by this qualified for the PDC World Championship 2024/25. He won one of the events of the PDC Europe Next Gen 2024 Tour - and reached the final of the World Masters in the same year. He lost to Wesley Plaiser but it nevertheless was his biggest success so far.
