Wayne Jones started his darts career at the end of the 1980s with the BDO. His best result in the BDO was the finale of the Winmau World Masters 1999 which he lost against Andy Fordham. In 2002 he reached the quarterfinals of the BDO World Championship and switched after that to the PDC.
2005 he took for the first time part in the PDC World Championship and till 2015 qualified every year. His best result so far came in 2006 when he reached the semi-finals. 2010 Jones reached the final of the European Championship where he lost to Phil Taylor. By this win he qualified for the Grand Slam of Darts 2010 and played himself into the semi-finals. 2017 he had to return his Tour Card and played for one year on the Challenge Tour. He was so successful that he regained the Tour Card over the Challenge Tour Order of Merit. So now he again can be found on the PDC Pro Circuit. He is not really successful but quite solid and qualifies from time to time for a European Tour Event. By the Pro Tour Order of Merit he qualified for the PDC World Championships 2019 and 2021.
