Scotsman Shaun MacDonald was a good youth player who won in 2002 the World Youth Masters. From 2006
he played a few PDC events but then took a break for several years. 2021 he took part without
success in the PDC Qualifying School and played the PDC Challenge Tour winning one of the events.
Beside he won the Irish Classic 2021 and stood in the quarterfinals of the Denmark Open. He just
missed out as second of the Challenge Tour ranking to qualify for the PDC World Championship but
qualified for the inaugural WDF World Championship 2022. He returned to Qualifying School in
January 2022 but again couldn't get a Tour Card. But due to his Challenge Tour success he qualified
for the UK Open in which he had already taken part in 2006 and 2007. At the WDF World Championship
McDonalds lost first round to Dave Parletti.
