Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode started his career with one year on the BDO Circuit. He changed 2011 to the PDC Youth Tour and since 2014 played the PDC Challenge Tour as he had no Tour Card. In 2014 he managed to qualify for one of the PDC European Events and for the UK Open where he lost third round. Beside he stood in the semifinals of the PDC World Youth Championship. 2015 van Duijvenbode threw a nine-darter on the Development Tour. He reached the quarterfinals of a Players Championship and took part in the European Championship. By the Pro Tour Order of Merit van Duijvenbode qualified for the PDC World Championship 2016 where he lost first round to fellow country man Raymond van Barneveld. Till that time van Duijvenbode waited for his break through, losing his Tour Card every second year and gaining it back in the following Qualifying School. 2020 he again got a Tour Card and this time managed to keep it. 2020 he for the first time stood in the semi-finals of an European Tour event. Van Duijvenbode qualified for the World Grand Prix and reached the final at his debut. In the Grand Slam he didn't survive the Group Phase but in the European Championship and the Players Championship Finals he played himself into the quarterfinals. By the Pro Tour Order of Merit he qualified for the PDC World Championship 2021 and was one of the surprise players of the tournament. Van Duijvenbode reached the quarterfinals. 2022 he was quite successful as well but 2023 he suffered from several injuries and his form dipped. It looks till midst of 2024 Duijvenbode's form is improving again.
Duijvenbode is best known for his walk-on with hardcore music.
