Noa-Lynn van Leuven is the first trans woman in darts, attracted some attention and made quite a splash. The decision from the PDC and the WDF to allow her to enter all women events, was not received positive by all other female players and fans.
Van Leuven since 2021 play's women's tournaments but before played darts as a man. 2022 she took part in the Dutch Open and played some Women's Series events - she twice reached the quarterfinals. Beside she was part of the Dutch national team in the WDF Europe Cup. He biggest success were the semi-finals of the Northern Ireland Open. Van Leuven had mor good results in 2023, won the Denmark Open and by this qualified for the WDF World Championship 2024. She qualified for the PDC Women's World Matchplay but Open and took part in the WDF World Cup where she reached the semi-finals.
2024 she took part without success in the PDC Qualifying Tour and played on the Challenge Tour where she sensational won an event. Van Leuven played a few Players Championships as replacement. She got some wins on the Women's Series and qualified again for the Women's World Matchplay and again lost her first match. Together with Aletta Wajer she won the women's pairs of the WDF Europe Cup. As second of the Women's Series Order of Merit she qualified for the PDC World Championship 2024/25. Van Leuven decided to play the PDC World Championship and withdrew from the WDF World Championship.
