Young Dutchman Jurjen van der Velde played for some years successful BDO/WDF youth events, 2018 he won the WDF World Cup Youth, the World Masters Youth and the JDC World Championship. Since 2019 van der Velde plays on the PDC Development Tour as well and celebrated in 2021 his first win. 2022 he won his second development Tour event and two Challenge Tour events but couldn't win a Tour Card in Qualifying School. 2023 he again took part in the PDC Qualifying School - this time with success. Now he plays both on the Development Tour and on the Pro Tour.
Both in 2022 and in 2023 van der Velde took part in the UK Open.
