Anca Zijlstra plays since 2011 on the BDO Circuit and slowly is moving up the rankings. She was several times nominated for the Dutch national team and took part in one World Cup and one Europe Cup so far both times reaching the last 16 of the ladies singles. 2016 she for the first time qualified for the BDO World Championship in Lakeside. She lost in the quarterfinals to Aileen de Graaf. Zijlstra qualified again thanks to good results in 2016 for the BDO World Championship 2017.
