Portuguese Jose Oliveira de Sousa plays both steel-darts and soft-darts and takes part in PDC and in BDO/WDF tournaments. He already won several tournaments - most of them in Spain.
2012 he qualified for the first time for the PDC World Championship and he was the first Portuguese who ever took part in one of the two world Championships. De Sousa lost in the Preliminary Round against South African Devon Petersen. 2017 he took part in the PDC Qualifying School but didn't win a Tour Card. In 2018 he won the south and West Europe Qualifier for the PDC World Championship but lost in the first round of the World Championship 2019 to Michael Barnard. After the World Championship De Sousa took part for a second time in the PDC Qualifying School and secured himself a Tour Card. In his first European Tour Event 2019 he reached the quarterfinals. In Septmeber 2019 he won his first Players Championship. Early in 2020 he qualified for two more European Tour Events. In November 2020 de Sousa won the Grand Slam of Darts, his first PDC Major.
