Las Vegas Open and stuff

Well I went down to Houston Texas last weekend to play the Blue Bonnet Open and the weekend was a great one! I initially was using this event to get my game back going after the lay-off but I pre-empted my return by playing in Houston two weeks ago since the elbow was feeling better then expected. It is feeling so good in fact that I actually practiced pretty much everyday since the last event two weeks ago and it showed. I had been feeling my game was better then ever and this week in Texas it went to a new level.... I had full control of my darts which lead me to 3 finals and a semi final on the weekend but more importantly even greater confidence.

I often tell people that you have two games, your practice game and your competitive game... You sit at one level for awhile then one day you go out and your practice game shows up in competition. Now you have moved to a new level. See it is not a direct link to practice versus performance......

What I mean by this is that you go up in steps not in a direct relation to practice. Think of it as a staircase versus a 45 degree line on a graph, you are at one level and then BAM you jump up a level. 3.4 cricket average then Bam you become 4.0 one day. Well that's what I did in Houston and its exciting as I was already really happy where I was and still had weeks to go before my return to Asia. Finally being able to practice everyday definitely has helped that along and can't wait to see how Las Vegas will go this weekend.

Las Vegas hosts the USA National Cricket finals so all the best players from the USA will be there plus there is always a few European players over chasing the magical WDF points... mind you I have yet to see anyone else win then a American (well my partner Wes Newton did but he wasn't here for WDF points as he is PDC and just came for a fun time). I think one part of that is USA only plays 2/3 bull every game which anyone can win really where the norm world wide is at least best of 5 alternating start.( another whole discussion that gets me going)

So I am really looking forward to this trip... not so worried about results just want to keep my brain sharp for the D-Crown event in 2 weeks... 2weeks?!?!? Gezz I may get nervous just thinking about it :) Neverous-excitment as I have LONG LONG awaited to play in Japan. Not much else happening right now... I do plan to take my video gear to Vegas and do a few new interviews to post so people can meet some new great players and hear their thoughts on darts. So see you in Las Vegas!!!
