Australian James Bailey plays darts since 1994 but takes part mostly in local Queensland or national tournaments. He is the dominating player in Queensland. 2013 he was nominated for the first time for the National Team. Bailey won a lot of national tournaments. He took part in the PDC Qualifying School but didn't get a Tour Card. He managed to qualify for the Melbourne Darts Masters and lost his first match against Gary Anderson. In 2018 he played the complete DPA Australian Pro Tour and had beside two wins some other good results. Since 2015 He plays soft-darts as well and won his first tournament as member of the Australian National Team during the Phoenix Summer Festival in Korea after he had only played soft-darts for around seven weeks.
In October 2018 Bailey won the Oceanic Masters and qualified for the PDC World Championship 2019. He lost at his debut in the first round against Steve Lennon. In January 2019 he made a second attempt to get a Tour Card in Qualifying School but didn't succeed. So he again played on the DPA Pro Tour, won a few more events and was invited by the PDC to take part in the Brisbane and the Melbourne Darts Masters, In both events Bailey only just lost his first round matches. 2020 he ended the season sitting in the third place of the DPA Pro Tour Order of Merit and qualified for the PDC World Championship 2021. He lost First Round to Callan Rydz
