Matthew Edgar started to play darts in 2001 and since 2011 plays in the PDC. In his first year he qualified for the UK Open and played himself under the last 32.
2012 he took part in Qualifying School and secured himself a Tour Card which he lost again in 2014. For two years he played on the Challenge Tour and won 2014 one of the events. 2016 in Qualifying School he got it back but was not really successful and lost it again after two years. So he took part once again in Qualifying School in 2018 and again won his Tour Card back. Edgar qualified for the first time for a PDC World Championship in 2019 but lost first round to Darius Labanauskas. He again qualified for the PDC World Championship in 2020 but again lost first round... to Darius Labanauskas. He played the UK Open 2020 and for the third time in his career reached the Last 32 of the tournament. In the PDC Wrold Championship 2021 - for which he qualified by the qualifier - he for the first time won a match but lost Second round to Mensur Suljovic.
Edgar practices together with Kevin Painter. He is no full time pro but works as a coach for Northhampton Town F.C. Edgar has an own youtube channel under "Edgar TV" .
