Steve West started to play darts in 1989 and joined the BDO Circuit in 2005.
In 2005 he reached his first final - the final of the French Open. 2007 he stood in the final of the Dutch Open and won the Denmark Open. He qualified for the BDO World Championship the same year for the first time but lost first round. 2008 he won the German Gold Cup and the Finnish Open and again was eliminated from the World Championship first round, this time he was defeated by Alan Norris. He didn't fare any better in 2010 when he lost first round to Dave Chisnall.
In 2011 he qualified again and this time his brother Tony West joined him - it was the first time the brothers both were qualified.
After the BDO World Championship 2012 both brothers decided to play the PDC Qualifying School and both manged to win a Tour Card. So now they will compete in the PDC.
Beside darts Steve West plays golf as well and he loves soccer.
