30. December
PDC World Championship - Day 13
Yesterday the fourth round of the tournament was played to the end. Today is the usual New Year's Eve break before on New Year's Day the quarterfinals will be played.
The last six matches of the fourth round were all quite one-sided, but there were a few surprise winners. The afternoon-session started with a clear 4:0 win from Dimitri van den Bergh over Kim Huybrechts. In the second match German Gabriel Clemens wrote history: he progressed as the first ever German player in the quarterfinals of a PDC World Championship. Clemens dominated the match and defeated the last unseeded player still in the tournament - Alan Soutar - with 4:1. With the same result ended the last match of the afternoon-session: Joe Cullen had no chance at all against Michael Smith. Not much better then Joe Cullen fared in the first match of the evening -session surprisingly Rob Cross who lost 2:4 to Chris Dobey. Without a chance was as well Dirk van Duijvenbode against Michael van Gerwen who won as well 4:1. Another surprise had the last fourth round match in store - Stephen Bunting won 4:1 against Luke Humphries.

PDC World Championship - Five Minutes Analysis Day 13
Today in both the afternoon- and the evening-session three matches of the fourth round will be played.

Today's Day's Specials: It is only the second time that at the PDC World Championship two Belgian players meet. 2014 Kim Huybrechts was drawn first round against his brother Ronny Huybrechts, Kim won with 3:1.
What you should know as well: Gabriel Clemens already stands for the second time in the fourth round and he ist still so far the only German player who managed it. In this year with Gabriel Clemens and Martin Schindler for the first time two German players qualified by the Order of Merit for the World Championship.

PDC World Championship - Day 12
On the twelfth day of the tournament first the last four third round matches were played and Dirk van Duijvenbode, Rob Cross, Stephen Bunting and Luke Humphries prevailed. Dirk van Duijvenbode won as last year the hard fought match against Ross Smith while a strong playing Bunting won against an almost as outstanding Dave Chisnall. After that the first two fourth round matches took place. Gerwyn Price had no problems against Jose de Sousa, but the match between Jonny Clayton and Josh Rock was a real battle. In the end Clayton won who impressed with his clinical finishing.

At the PDC World Championship the third round will be played to the end and the fourth round will begin. In the afternoon-session three third round and in the evening-session one third round and two fourth round matches will take place.

For King - born 1966 - who started his career in the BDO it is already the 27. World Championship in a row. He reached the final of the BDO World Championship twice. His best PDC World Championship result so far was the semi-final 2009

PDC World Championship - Tag 11
On the eleventh day of the tournament the third round continued with some upsets and a lot of drama. In the afternoon-session both Jose de Sousa and unseeded Alan Soutar reached the fourth round with strong comebacks. De Sousa's comeback only started after Searle missed one matchdart for a 4:1 win. After that Chris Dobey eliminated Gary Anderson with a clear 4:1 win from the tournament. In the evening-session Joe Cullen and Michael van Gerwen dominated their matches - despite Suljovic' strong performance against von Gerwen. With the last match a real thriller between Martin Schindler and Michael Smith followed. Smith as well had to come back from 1:3 to win the match 4:3.

At the PDC World Championship the third round continues, again an afternoon- and an evening -session with three matches each will be played.
Match of the day: Personal Favourite: Ryan Searle v Jose de Sousa. Impartial: Michael Smith v Martin Schindler
Today's Day's Specials: With Alan Soutar another non seeded player stands at the oche today. Soutar got his Tour Card in 2021 and moved up the rankings from then. Today he is ranked 36 in the PDC Order of Merit. He qualified last year for the PDC World Championship as well and lost in the last 16 at his debut.
What you should know as well: Gary Anderson not only supported Michael Smith at the begin of his career but Chris Dobey too. They met at the PDC World Championship 2019 as well , that year under the Last 16. Anderson defeated Dobey 4:3.

PDC World Championship - Day 10
After the end of the Christmas break yesterday the third round started with several upsets and surprising results. The biggest upset to be sure was that reigning champion Peter Wright was eliminated by Kim Huybrechts. Nathan Aspinall was eliminated by Josh Rock who continued his astonishing debut. Raymond van Barneveld was far less impressive as he had been in the Grand Slam where he won twice against Gerwyn Price. This time Price got a very clear 4:0 win against the Dutchman. German Gabriel Clemens defeated in the dramatic match of the day Jim Williams. No problems at all had Dimitri van den Bergh against Krzysztof Ratajski and Jonny Clayton against Brendan Dolan.

The Christmas break is over and the tournament continues with the third round which is played today in an afternoon- and an evening-session.

PDC World Championship - Day 8
The eighth day of the World Championship was a difficult day for some of the seeded players. One of them - James Wade - even was eliminated from the tournament. Dirk van Duijvenbode, Gary Anderson and Luke Humphries had to give all for their wins. Quite comfortable wins got Ryan Searle, Mensur Suljovic, Krzysztof Ratajski and Vincent van der Voort.

30 Years PDC World Championship - 30 years Dutch participants? - 2

Roland Scholten was the first Dutchman to become a PDC Top player and he stayed it for several years. He took part in six BDO and in twelve PDC World Chanpionships before a neck and shoulder injury ended his career. During his years in the PDC several other Dutch players qualified for the PDC World Championship but none of those stayed in the PDC. 2003 it was the today forgotten Arjan Moen.

PDC World Championship - Five Minutes Analysis Day 8
The first round is over and so on the eighth day of the PDC World Championship both in the afternoon and in the evening session four second round matches will be played. When you feel the first round this year was not as good as in the years before you are not wrong. This year's overall average was 87.07 while in 2020 it was 88.99, in 2021 88.81 and in 2022 88.22.

He defeated in the final Adam Gawlas 6:0. Gawlas as weel will be on stage today. He is ranked 73 in the PDC Order of Merit. But Gawlas is quite accurately seven years younger then Humphries...

PDC World Championship - Day 7
On Day 7 of the tournament first the last two first round matches took place which were won by Darius Labanauskas and Martijn Kleermaker. In the following two second round matches of the afternoon session the Irish debutant Josh Rock could celebrate a surprisingly clear 3:0 win over seeded upcoming player Callan Rydz who had a pitchblack day and after that Dave Chisnall won a hard fought match against Andrew Gilding with 3:1. The evening session brought wins for all four seeded players Mervyn King, Gabriel Clemens, Michael van Gerwen and Stephen Bunting though Mervyn King had to give all against American Danny Baggish.

The seeded player of the day Raymond van Barneveld prevailed in the last match of the night with 3:1 over a solid playing Ryan Meikle and will meet in the third round once again Gerwyn Price. Ricky Evans defeated Fallon Sherrock in an evenly matched game 3:2. Evans was more clinical on his doubles which made the difference. Beside there were wins of debutant Jimmy Hendriks in a tenacious match over Jamie Hughes and of Jim Williams over young Pole Sebastian Bialecki.

PDC World Championship - Day 5
Jose de Sousa and Gerwyn PRice - the two seeded players of the fifth day - won their matches and progressed into the third round. De Sousa needed against Simon Whitlock a remarkable comeback as the Australian already had been 2:0 in the lead. Gerwyn Price lost the first set to Simon Whitlock but after that controlled the match. Four of the debutants of the day won their matches: Danny Jansen, Danny Van Trijp, Leonard Gates - who danced into the hearts of the crowd - and David Cameron who surprised with his win over Ritchie Edhouse. Beside Lewy Williams only just missed the nine-darter to win his match against Niels Zonneveld.

Cameron qualified as best Canadian on the CDC Tour for his first PDC World Championship.
What you should know as well: For Steve Beaton it is already the 32. World Championship in a row. From 1992 - 2001 he took part in every BDO World Championship, from 2002 till today in all PDC World Championships. He only won once in 1996. Beside he reached in 1993 and 1997 the semi-finals of the BDO World Championship. In the PDC World Championship he never got further then the Last 16.

Both seeded winners of the fourth day won their matches - Damon Heta defeated Adrian Lewis, who couldn't keep up his first round performance - with 3:0, Nathan Aspinall prevailed 3:1 over Boris Krcmar. The outstanding match of the day and the tournament so far was the match between Scott Williams and Ryan Joyce, in which both players had an average of over 100 and which was won by Scott Williams with 164 Finish 3:1. Another highlight of the day was Karel Sedlacek's 3:0 win over Raymond Smith - Sedlacek averaged 98.72.

What you should know as well: Though Prakash Jiwa gives his debut as Indian qualifier today he is far from unknown in the PDC. Jiwa had a Tour Card from 2011 -2018, he regained it three times during those years in Q School. Since then he plays on the Challengen Tour. 2022 he decided no longer to play for England but to represent India, took part in the Indian World Championship Qualifier and won it.

PDC World Championship - Day 3
On the third day of the tournament with Daryl Gurney the first seeded player was eliminated from the event. He lost 0:3 to Alan Soutar who again impressed. In contrast the second seeded player, Dimitri van den Bergh, showed the so far best performance of the tournament and won 3:0 over Lourence Ilagan who had no chance at all. With Martin Lukeman, Adam Gawlas, Cameron Menzies and Josh Rock four of the debutants progressed into the second round. Lisa Ashton missed out on her first win in the Ally Pally. She had managed to come back from 0:2 against Ryan Meikle and to draw 2:2 but in the fifth set she couldn't keep up any longer.

PDC World Championship - Day 2
On the second day of the tournament in the afternoon-session only one-sided matches were pplayed which ended with 3:0 wins for Alan Soutar, Boris Krcmar, Adrian Lewis and Kim Huybrechts. It was more thrilling in the evening-session where in the first match Lourence Ilagan won a very close match Rowby-John Rodriguez. William O'Connor won after this with 3:0 against Beau Greaves but Greaves as well set some highlights and two of the sets went into the deciding legs. In the third match Florian Hempel only just prevailed over Keegan Brown who lost his Tour Card in defeat. The final match of the day was again a very one-sided one - Michael Smith won 3:0 over Nathan Rafferty and didn't lose a single leg.

The first round matches on the first day of the tournaments brought two smaller upsets - both debutants won their matches. South African Grant Sampson defeated in a scrapy match Keane Barry with 3:1 and Nathan Rafferty prevailed in a close match 3:2 over Jermaine Wattimena. Mickey Mansell won without problems the opening match of the tournament 3:1 against Ben Robb but had in the second round match against reigning champion Peter Wright no chance - Wright won 3:0.

30 years PDC World Championship - 30. World Championship for Raymond van Barneveld
Not only the PDC World Championship celebrates this time its 30. anniversary. For Raymond van Barneveld it will be the thirtieth time he takes part in a World Championship. Beside him only Steve Beaton managed it, who this year already qualified for the thirty-first time. Van Barneveld will enter the the World Championship after he reached the semi-finals of the Grand Slam last month full of confidence. The PDC World Championship will begin tomorrow.

The dates for the WDF World Championships 2023 are not yet known but after the Winmau World Masters all participants are already known.

Winmau World Masters
On the final day of the Winmau World Masters the qualifiers for the men and women for the WDF World Championships 2023 took place. Four places were on offer for the men, two for the women. The men's qualifiers were Shaun McDonald, Dutchmen Jarno Bottenberg and Arjan Kontermann and Austrian Christian Gödl. He is the first Austrian who managed to qualify after Mensur Suljovic in 2002. The two places for the women got Spain Almudenda Fajardo and Japanese Mayumi Ouchi. With Fajardo for the first time a female Spain qualified for a WDF World Championship.
The participants in the WDF World Championships of the Girls and the Boys are known as well. In the final of the girl's event Italian Aurora Fochesato and Hungarian Krisztina Turai will meet. The boy's semi-finals reached Luke Littler, Dutchman Bradley van der Velden, German Mats Theobald and Irishman Adam Dee.

Winmau World Masters
In all four events of the Winmau World Masters we did see new winners this year.
Winner of the men's event was Dutchman Wesley Plaisier. The women's title went to Beau Greaves, who already won the girl's title before. The Boy's title went to Luke Littler who had been the favourite. In the Girls event Paige Pauling prevailed who had won the World Open as well.
Today in Assen the WDF World Championship Qaulifiers for the Women and Men will take place.

11. December
Winmau World Masters
On the third day of the tournament in Assen the World Open of the Men and the Women took place, the two World Masters Youth events were played down till including the semi-finals and the finals of the World ParaDarts World Masters were played. The World Open titles went to Benjamin Pratnemer and Aileen de Graaf. Luke Littler and American Peter Stewart jnr will meet in the Boy's Final. Stewart is the first Amrican to reach this final. In the Girls Final Paige Pauling, who already won the World Open event, and Finn Lida Lanko will clash. The ParaDarter titles went to Canadian Wayne Chapman - standing - and Belgian Vincent D'Hondt - wheelchair.
Today the finals of all four World Masters events will be played.

Winmau World Masters
Yesterday in Assen in the Netherlands the Winmau World Masters began. On the first day the Floor Matches of the women and men were played. In the men's event no former World Masters winner is in the field of the participants. Among the players who were eliminated on the first day were the WDF World Chmapionship runner-up Thibault Tricole and James Hurrell. In the women's event all favourites are still in the event.

Additions Who is Who

As always before the PDC World Championship some of the participants had to be added to the Who is Who. This year it were: Scott Williams, Sebastian Bialecki, Xicheng Han, Paolo Nebrida, Nobuhiro Yamamoto, Robert Owen, Danny van Trijp, Grant Sampson and Vladyslav Omelchenko.

After the draw the PDC puplished now the schedule of the first and second round as well.
The tournament will begin on 15. December with the first round match between Mickey Mansell and Ben Robb. As always the reigning champion will as well begin his tournament on the first evening - Peter Wright will play against the winner of the opening match. Till including the 20. December in each session three first round and one second round match will be played. The last two first round matches will take place in the afternoon session on 21. December. After that till the Christmas break the second round will be played to the end.

PDC World Championship
The field of participants for the PDC World Championship 2022/23 is complete. Yesterday by the PDPA Qualifier Richie Burnett, Ryan Joyce and Jeff Smith were the last players to qualify for the tournament.
The draw for the first and second round of the tournament took place yesterday as well. Reigning champion Peter Wright will begin his campaign against the winner of the first round match between Mickey Mansell and Ben Robb from New Zealand. The World Number 1 Gerwyn Price will play his first match against the winner of the first round game between Luke Woodhouse and Urkain's Vladyslav Omelchenko while Michael van Gerwen will begin against the winner of the first round match between Niels Zonneveld and Lewy Williams.

Van Gerwen wins Players Championship Finals
Michael van Gerwen was unstoppable in the final of the Players Championship Finals - not even by a strong playing Rob Cross. He won the final 6:11 and for the seventh time got the title.
In the match he delighted the crowd not only with a nine-darter but with a 170 finish as well.

Rock Winmau World Youth Champion

Josh Rock is the newly crowned Winmau PDC World Youth Champion.
He defeated in a very one sided final his Scottish opponent Nathan Girvan with 6:1 and once again showed a convincing performance.

Players Championship Finals
On the second day of the event the second and the third round were played and the field of participants was further reduced from 32 to 8 players. In the oustanding match of the day an unstoppable Dirk van Duijvenbode met a strong playing Ryan Searle. Van Duijvenbode won the close match with 10:9.
Today in the afternoon-session the quarterfinals will take place. In the evening-session semi-finals and final will follow. Between the semi-finals and the final the final of the Winmau World Youth Championship between Josh Rock and Nathan Girvan will be played.

In the first round there were several - among others Gerwyn Price and Michael Smith lost their averages and were eliminated from the tournament.The best perfomance of the first day showed Danny Noppert who played an average of 106.59.

Today in Minehead the Players Championship Finals will begin in which the Top 64 of the Players Championship Order of Merit take part. Reigning champion Peter Wright withdrew due to the health issues of his wife and is replaced by Gian van Veen.

Michael Smith wins Grand Slam
Michael Smith defeated in the final of the Grand Slam Nathan Aspinall with 16:5 and won his first big TV title.
Smith was one of the moast consistent players of the event, he won all his group matches commandingly and he was in the final clearly the better player while Aspinall seemed to be a little bit tired. Smith was already a finalist in many TV events but so far always missed with his matchdarts.

Michael Smith and Nathan Aspinall will meet tonight in the final of the Grand Slam of Darts.
Michael Smith prevailed 16:12 over Raymond van Barneveld. For a long time it was an evenly matched game but in the end Smith managed to pull clear. The second semi-final between Nathan Aspinall and Luke Humphries was very similar - for a long time both players were on par before Aspinall pulled clear and won as well 16:12.

Aspinall and Humphries through to semi-finals
Nathan Aspinall und Luke Humphries won tonight their quarterfinals against Alan Soutar and Michael van Gerwen and will meet tomorrow afternoon in the semi-finals.
In the first quarterfinal tonight Nathan Aspinall won 16:12 against Alan Soutar. It was a very evenly matched game in which Aspinall prevailed because he was much more clinical on his doubles then his opponent.
In the second semi-final Luke Humphries caused one of the big upsets of the tournament - he defeated Michael van Gerwen - the favourite to win the event - with 10:16. Van Gerwen couldn't keep up the brilliant performance he showed against Josh Rock and Humphries was from the start the dominant player who kept his nerve till the end.

Smith and van Barneveld progressed into the semi-finals
In two thrilling quarterfinals tonight Michael Smith and Raymond van Barneveld prevailed. Joe Cullen and reigning champion Gerwyn Price were eliminated.
First Michael Smith played against Joe Cullen. Cullen most of the time was in the lead till 15:13. But then Smith managed to win three legs in a row to win 16:15. In the second quarterfinal between Gerwyn Price and Raymond van Barneveld Price was 3:8 in the lead. But the Dutchman won the seven following legs and took the lead which he protected to the end even though Price at one time reduced his arrears to one leg. Van Barneveld won 16:13.
Van Barneveld and Smith will meet in the semi-finals on Sunday.

Grand Slam of Darts - Second Night Last 16
Though he didn't win the highclass match against a brilliant Michael van Gerwen it was Josh Rock who stood in the limelight - he threw a nine-darter in the match but lost 8:10. After this the last match of the night between Luke Humphries and Ross Smith felt almost boring - Humphries won with 10:8. Humphries and van Gerwen will meet in the quarterfinals on Saturday. The other two matches of the night were won by Nathan Aspinall and Alan Soutar. Aspinall defeated without problems Jermaine Wattimena with 10:6 while Soutar continued his dream debut and prevailed 10:8 over Jonny Clayton. So in the other quarterfinal on Saturday Nathan Aspinall will play against Alan Soutar.
Tonight the first two quarterfinals will take place: Joe Cullen will meet Michael Smith and Gerwyn Price will play against Raymond van Barneveld, .

Grand Slam of Darts - First Night Last 16
The dream Grand Slam for Raymond van Barneveld goes on: he defeated in the last 16 Simon Whitlock with 10:8. Michael Smith as well won 10:8 against Rob Cross - Smith was the complete match in the lead, but couldn't really get rid of Cross. For the third match reigning champion Gerwyn Price came on stage but the match first was dominated by his opponent Danny Noppert. Price never gave in and finally drawed 8:8. Then he won the last two legs of the match - another 10:8 win. The last match between Joe Cullen and Dirk van Duijvenbode was a one-sided affair - Cullen won with 10:4.
In the quarterfinals on Friday Gerwyn Price will clash -as he did already in the group phase - with Raymond van Barneveld antreten, Joe Cullen will play against Michael Smith.

After the Group Phase tonight the Knockout Phase of the tournament will begin. The first four matches will be played in which the first of the groups A-D will play seconds of the other groups.
Raymond van Barneveld opens the night against Simon Whitlock. Next on will be the match between Michael Smith and Rob Cross. In the third match Reigning Champion Gerwyn Price will meet Danny Noppert and in the last match Dirk van Duijvenbode and Joe Cullen will clash.

Grand Slam of Darts - World Champion eliminated
Nathan Aspinall caused on the last day of the Group Phase of the Grand Slam the biggest upset - he defeated World Champion Peter Wright. By the win Aspinall moved on the top of Group E. As Alan Soutar won against Fallon Sherrock Wright was eliminated due to the leg difference while Aspinall and Soutar progressed into the Knockout Phase. Jermaine Wattimena defeated Leonard Gates and progressed alongside Jonny Clayton, who lost with a weak performance against Damon Heta, from Group F into the next round. From Group G Michael van Gerwen and Ross Smith progressed who clashed in a highclass match today which was won by Smith. From Group H Luke Humphries and Rosh Rock progessed who as well clashed today, Rock won the match.

Grand Slam of Darts
Tonight the last group matches of Groups E-F will be played. Luke Humphries, Jonny Clayton and Michael van Gerwen are already through to the next round. World Champion Peter Wright on the other side can't yet be sure to progress, in his group beside him Nathan Aspinall and Alan Soutar still have a chance, only Fallon Sherrock is eliminated. In the other groups as well not all is decided yet.

Grand Slam of Darts - Reigning Champion battles into the next round
After a thrilling night the eight players are known who progress from Groups A - D into the Knockout Phase of the tournament. Three matches were especially hard fought. Danny Noppert prevailed in a close match against Mensur Suljovic. Noppert had both problems with his doubles and with Suljovic's throwing rhythm. In the highclass match of the night between Dave Chisnall and reigning champion Gerwyn Price it was the reigning champion who won with 5:4. As close but less highclass was the last match of the night between Rob Cross and Martin Schindler. Cross won it in a final comeback sprint while his opponent missed a lot of doubles.

Grand Slam of Darts - Last Group Matches Groups A-D
Tonight the last group matches of Groups A-D will be played. So far only Raymond van Barneveld and Dirk van Duijvenbode as firsts of their groups A and D are through to the Knockout Phase while Ted Evetts and Adam Gawlas are already eliminated. Reigning Champion Gerwyn Price is one of the players who still has to fight - he has to win against Dave Chisnall. In Groups B and C nothing is decided yet, in Group D the winner of Rob Cross v Martin Schindler will progress.

After the second day of the tournament on which the second group matches of all groups were played already five players are thanks to their second wins through to the next round: Raymond van Barneveld, Dirk van Duijvenbode, Michael van Gerwen, Jonny Clayton and Luke Humphries, who played in the last match on Sunday with 107.4 the so far highest average of the tournament. On the first day of the tournament we did see wins for former champions Raymond van Barneveld and Michael van Gerwen and reigning champion Gerwyn Price. All other seeded players won their first group matches as well. Slightly astonishing were Luke Woodhouse, Alan Soutar and Jermaine Wattimena among the winners. The highest averages played Dirk van Duijvenbode, Rob Cross, Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen.

Hempel wins PDC Europe Super League
Florian Hempel defeated in the final of this year's PDC Europe Super League Niko Springer with 10:8 and secured by this a place in the PDC World Championship. With Hempel the most consistent player won though had first to come back from 2:6 behind in the match to win it.
Hempel prevailed in the quarterfinals over Dragutin Horvat and then defeated Daniel Klose in the semi-finals who couldn't quite keep his nerve in the deciding leg. Springer reached the final with wins over Ricardo Pietreczko and Lukas Wenig.

PDC Europe Super League - Day 4
Florian Hempel, Rene Eidams, Lukas Wenig and Ricardo Pietreczko progressed from Main Group A into the quarterfinals, Niko Springer, Franz Rötzsch, Daniel Klose and Dragutin Horvat progressed from Main Group B.
Tomorrow the tournament will be played to the end. In the quarterfinals Florian Hempel will play against Dragutin Horvat, Franz Rötzsch will meet Lukas Wenig, Rene Eidams will clash with Daniel Klose and Niko Springer will play against Ricardo Pietreczko.

On the third day of the event, the first day of the second round, Florian Hempel again won all his seven matches. So he heads the table of main group A followed by Lukas Wenig and Rene Eidams with five wins each on places 2 and 3. Fourth is Nico Kurz with four wins who currently would progress into the quarterfinals as well.
In main group B Niko Springer is first in the table with six wins followed by Franz Rötzsch and Daniel Klose who both won five matches. David Schlichting and Dragutin Horvat at the moment sit in places 4 and 5. Both won four matches - they are seperated by the leg difference.

Yesterday the PDC Europe Super League started. In four groups with six players each every player played five matches in a round robin format.
Three of the 24 players had a flawless start and won all five matches: Florian Hempel, Daniel Klose and Niko Springer. Today in the same format the second half of the first round will follow. The top four of each group progress into the second round.
Dragutin Horvat therew a nine-darter yesterday but only sits in fifth place of his group.

Gerwyn Price and James Wade were the winners of the last two Players Championships of the year.
Gerwyn Price defeated in the final of the 29. Players Championships on Friday Gian van Veen with 8:4. In the semi-finals stood Dave Chisnall and Mike de Decker.

Ross Smith wins European Championship
Ross Smith defeated in the final of the European Championship Michael Smith with 8:11 and secured his first Major title. Before he defeated on finals day in the quarterfinals world champion Peter Wright and prevailed in the semi-finals over Chris Dobey. Michael Smith reached the final by wins over Luke Humphries in the quarterfinals and Dirk van Duijvenbode in the semi-finals.

PDC Women's Series
Beau Greaves managed to win the last two events of this year's Women Series as well. In the 19. event she defeated in the final Fallon Sherrock with 5:3 and played a sensational 107.86 average in the match, in the 20. event she prevailed 5:1 over Mikuru Suzuki. By this Greaves moved up on the second place of the ranking ousting Fallon Sherrock and secured beside Lisa Ashton- who heads the ranking - a place in the PDC World Championship.
In the semi-finals of the 19. event stood Lisa Ashton and Natalie Gilbert while in the 20. event Robyn Byrne and Rhian O'Sullivan reached the semi-finals.

European Championship - Day 3
Today in Dortmund in an afternoon-and an evening session the second round took place.
We did see two slightly surprising wins for Chris Dobey and Ross Smith who prevailed over Jose de Sousa and Dimitri van den Bergh respectively. In the all Dutch clash Danny Noppert won the close match 10:9 against Vincent van der Voort, Dirk van Duijvenbode defeated James Wade with 10:7. Luke Humphries was too strong for Ryan Searle, Michael Smith played imperiously and defeated an again great playing Josh Rock, Peter Wright gave Rowby-John Rodriguez no chance at all and Dave Chisnall somehow managed to beat Jonny Clayton.

PDC Women's Series
At the weekend in Wigan this year's Women's Series will be played to the end. Today and tomorrow two events each will take place.
Today both events were won by Beau Greaves who defeated in the final once Mikuru Suzuki and once Lisa Ashton. In event 17 Maria O'Brien and Lorraine Winstanley reached the semi-finals, in event 18 it were Fallon Sherrock and again Lorraine Winstanley.

European Championship - Day 2
The second day of the tournament - on which the first round was played to the end - went not according to plan for some of the top players and both Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price were elimnated.
Gerwyn Price lost whith 4:6 to Rowby-John Rodiguez who was more clinical on his doubles. Michael van Gerwen came back against Chris Dobey and had a 5:4 lead. But Dobey managed to win the last two legs after both players had missed some matchdarts. The other winners of the night were an outstanding Dave Chisnall, Dimitri van den Bergh and Ross Smith who both showed strong performances, Peter Wright and Jose de Sousa who both dominated their matches and a convincing Jonny Clayton.

European Championship - Day 1
Already on the first night of the tournament in Dortmund several upsets happened and beside reigning champion Rob Cross with Damon Heta and Nathan Aspinall two more players out of the Top 10 of the European Tour Order of Merit were eliminated from the event.
Cross lost in a from both players unconvincing match to James Wade, Nathan Aspinall lost an as well very close match to debutant Josh Rock and Damon Heta was defeated by Vincent van der Voort who just hit his doubles better. The other winners of the night were Dirk van Duijvenbode, Ryan Searle, Danny Noppert, Luke Humphries and Michael Smith.

Wins for Cross and Rock on the Pro Tour
On Saturday and Sunday Rob Cross and Josh Rock won Players Championships 27 and 28.
Rob Cross defeated in the final of the 27. Players Championship Peter Wright with 8:4. The semifinals reached Callan Rydz and Ryan Meikle.
On Sunday Josh Rock got his first Pro Tour title - he won the final of the 28. Players Championship with 8:5 against Luke Humphries. In the semifinals stood Damon Heta and for the first time German Ricardo Pietreczko.

Wins for Chisnall and Heta on the Pro Tour
The first two events of the weekend in Barnsley were won by Dave Chisnall and Damon Heta.
Chisnall won the 25. Players Championship with a 8:4 triumph over Josh Rock. Both players played outstanding during the day, Chisnall had at his quarterfinal win against Luke Humphries an unbelievable 114.62 average. In the semi-finals stood Gerwyn Price and Damon Heta.
Today Damon Heta won the 26. Players Championship, he defeated in the final Dirk van Duijvenbode after a great comeback with 8:4. With Heta the most consistent player of the day was the winner. The semi-finals reached Boris Krcmar and Gerwyn Price.
Tomorrow and on Sunday two more Players Championship will be played.

From today till Sunday in Barnsley the Players Championships 25 - 28 will be played. Many of the participants still try to qualify for the Players Championship Finals, in which the Top 64 of the Players Championship Order of Merit will take part. After the Gibraltar Darts Torphy, the last event of the European Tour 2022, all participants in the European Championship are known. The tournament will take place from 27. - 30. October in Dortmund, Germany.
The draw for the first round already took place. Reigning champion Rob Cross will play his first round match against James Wade while number 1 seed Luke Humphries will open his campaign against Krzysztof Ratajski.

PDC Challenge Tour
At the weekend the last four events of this year's PDC Challenge Tour were played and they had four different winners. On Saturday was "French Day" on the Challenge Tour and Thibault Tricole and Jacques Labre both celebrated their first wins, on Sunday Andy Hamilton and Justin Smith won the last two events. But it had no effect on the Ranking, which is still headed by Scott Williams and Robert Owen.
As Williams is already qualified for the PDC World Championship the two Challenge Tour tournament places went to Robert Owen ranked on second place and Danny van Trijp ranked third. Williams and Owen both will get a Tour Card. Should Williams be after the World Championship under the Top 64 of the Order of Merit van Trijp will get the Tour Card. Williams is as well qualified for the Grand Slam of Darts.

Heta wins Gibraltar Darts Trophy
Damon Heta defeated in the final of the Gibraltar Darts Trohphy Peter Wright in a very close match with 8:7 and won his first title on the European Tour. Wright stormed into a 3:0 lead. Heta levelled and took the lead. But Wright managed to level as well and the match went into a deciding leg in which Wright already looked like the winner. But Heta didn't give in, both players missed several match darts before Heta finally hit the double 4 for the win.
In the semi-finals Peter Wright defeated Rob Cross with 7:1 while Heta won thanks to a convincing comeback a hard fought match against Michael van Gerwen with 7:6.

PDC Europe Super League
As the PDC Europe announced this year's PDC Europe Super League will be played from 7. - 11. November. As last year it will take place in the H+ Hotel in Niedernhausen. The format will be the same as last year. Beside the Top 16 of last year's ranking - with the exception of Martin Schindler who is already qualified by the Pro Tour Order of Merit for the PDC World Champion - nine wild cards will take part. The wild cards were allocated predominantly to young and upcoming players. The winner of the PDC Europe Super League will again be awarded with a place in the PDC World Championship.

Gibraltar Darts Trophy
Today on the second day of the event the second round will take place in an afternoon- and an evening session. The first round winners will play against the seeded players.
From the six Host Nation Qualifiers only Craig Galliano survived the first round. He will play tonight against Peter Wright. As well tonight on stage will be reigning champion Gerwyn Price who will play in a repeat of last year's final against Mensur Suljovic.

Gibraltar Darts Trophy
The Gibraltar Darts Trophy is the 13. and last event of this year's European Tour. After the tournament all 32 participants in the European Championship are known. As always on the first day of the tournament today the first round will take place in an afternoon - and an evening session. Only the qualifiers will stand at the oche.
Karel Sedlacek and Krzysztof Kiuc withdrew from the event. So by the Host Nation Qualifier six tournament places were on offer. Craig Galliano, Manuel Vilerio, Sean Negrette, Justin Hewitt, Dyson Parody and Dylan Duo Jr qualified.

Van Gerwen wins World Grand Prix
Michael van Gerwen defeated Nathan Aspinall in a thrilling final 5:3 and won his sixth World Grand Prix title. Van Gerwen stormed to a 4:0 lead winning two of the sets in a deciding leg. But he hadn't won the match yet as Aspinall found a way back into the match and won the next three sets all with 3:1. In the eighth set Aspinall managed to level 2:2 but couldn't find the Double 20 for his finish in the deciding leg and van Gerwen won the match and the title with a Double 6.

PDC World Youth Championship
Today the PDC World Youth Championship in Wigan was played down till including the semi-finals. Nathan Girvan and Josh Rock were the winners of the two semi-finals, who will play during the Players Championship Finals on 27. November in Minehead the final. The losing semi-finalists were Callan Rydz and Geert Nentjes. Both Girvan and Jarred Cole threw during the tournament a nine-darter.
Winners of the last two Development Tour events of the year on Saturday were Nathan Rafferty and Joshua Richardson. By this Rafferty jumped above Josh Rock in the ranking. Josh Rock and Nathan Rafferty both will take part in the Grand Slam of Darts. Rafferty and the fourth ranked Lewy Williams both will get a place in the PDC World Championship as Rock and Keane Barry are already qualified by the Pro Tour Order of Merit. As all Top Four of the rankings already have a Tour Card Geert Nentjes and probably Jurjen van Velde will get the two Tour Cards for players from the Development Order of Merit.

PDC World Grand Prix
The semi-finals night was a night of upsets - especially as both Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright were never even near their A Game. In the first semi-final a powerful pugnacious Nathan Aspinall prevailed with 4:2 over an only in parts convincing Gerwyn Price. Much easier it was for Michael van Gerwen against Peter Wright who never at all was in the match and only won a single leg. Van Gerwen won 4:0.
Tonight in the final Nathan Aspinall will play against Michael van Gerwen.

PDC World Grand Prix
Michael van Gerwen showed the best performance in the quarterfinals and defeated Chris Dobey with 3:1. Gerwyn Price had no problems against Madars Razma, who couldn't keep up and won 3:0. The other two matches were hard fought and both were only decided in the fifth leg of the deciding fifth set. Nathan Aspinall prevailed over Martin Lukeman and Peter Wright over Dimitri van den Bergh.
Tonight in the semi-finals first Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall will meet before Michael van Gerwen will play against Peter Wright.

PDC Development Tour
Yesterday and today the last Development Tour events of the year take place in Wigan. After that all participants in the World Youth Championship are known which will be played down tomorrow till including the semi-finals. The final will take place on 27. November during the Players Championship Finals in Minehead.
Yesterday first Josh Rock won his fifth event of the year before Nathan Rafferty got his fourth title. Josh Rock won his final against Rusty-Jake Rodriguez while Nathan Rafferty prevailed over German Nico Springer.
At the moment Rock and Rafferty head the ranking and by this would both get a two years Tour Card and and a place in the World Championship.

PDC World Grand Prix
Yesterday in Leicester the second round was played to the end. For the two debutants Martin Lukeman and Madars Razma the dream debut continued - they progressed with wins over Ross Smith and Daryl Gurney in the quarterfinals. The only seed of this half of the draw still in the tournament - Gerwyn Price - had a slow start in his match against Joe Cullen but played two brilliant last sets and progressed as well. The last match of the second round between Nathan Aspinall and Danny Noppert was hard fought - Noppert won the first two sets, Aspinall leveled and battled in the deciding set over the finishing line first.
Today is quarterfinals day in Leicester. Nathan Aspinall will play against Martin Lukeman, Gerwyn Price will meet Madars Razma, Michael van Gerwen will play against Chris Dobey and Peter Wright against Dimitri van den Bergh,

PDC World Grand Prix
On the third day of the tournament the first four second round matches were played and it was once again a long night as all matches were only decided in the fifth set. Headlines wrote especially Dimitri van den Bergh who eliminated reigning champion Jonny Clayton with a convincing display. Chris Dobey prevailed in the first match of the night over Adrian Lewis. Krzysztof Ratajski and Stephen Bunting went as the outsiders in their matches against Peter Wright and Michael van Gerwen, but they made their opponents work hard - though in both matches the favourites won.
Tonight the second round will be played to the end, beside the only seed of the night, Gerwyn Price, the two debutants Martin Lukeman and Madars Razma will stand at the oche.

PDC World Grand Prix
On the second day of the tournament the last eight first round matches took place. Martin Lukeman caused the biggest upset so far by eliminating James Wade - one of the seeded players. Wade never really was in the match and Lukeman used his chances. With Michael Smith in the last match of the first round another seed was eliminated - he lost to Nathan Aspinall. As well eliminated was number 8 seed Rob Cross who lost to Daryl Gurney. Only one of the seed of the second night - Gerwyn Price - progressed into the second round. Price had no problems at all against German Martin Schindler. The night's other winners were Joe Cullen, Ross Smith, Madars Razma and Danny Noppert.
Today the second round will begin in Leicester in which Monday's winners will stand on stage.

PDC World Grand Prix
Jose de Sousa was the only seed who was eliminated on the first night - he lost a highclass and thrilling match 0:2 to Adrian Lewis. Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright and reigning champion Jonny Clayton won their first round matches though Clayton made it rather hard for him against Dirk van Duijvenbode due to a very slow start into the match. The other winners of the night were Krzystztof Ratajski, Chris Dobey, Stephen Bunting and Dimitri van den Bergh.
Tonight in Leicester the first round will be played to the end. Seeded players of the night are Gerwyn Price, James Wade, Michael Smith and Rob Cross. Today the three debutants Martin Schindler, Martin Lukeman and Madars Razma will stand on stage. They will play against Gerwyn Price, James Wade and Ryan Searle.

WDF Europe Cup
Beau Greaves dominated the WDF Europe Cup as well - she won the Women's Singles and together with Deta Hedman the Women's Pairs. The English Team won the final of the Team competition against Team Netherlands with 9:1. That means England was the overall women's winner.
The Men's Singles for the first time ever had with Jacques Labre French winner. The Men's Pairs were won by the English Pair Williams/Richardson. The Team competition was won by Team England 9:8 against Team Netherlands. England was the overall men's winner as well.

PDC World Grand Prix - Preview
On Monday in Leicester the PDC World Grand Prix will begin, a tournament which is played in the unusally modus of Double In, Double Out and in which the short format of the first round often produces some upsets.
BoyleSports, title sponsor and betting company, has in his betting ranking Gerwyn Price as first favourite to win the event followed by Peter Wright and Michael van Gerwen on second place and Jonny Clayton, the reigning champion, placed fourth.

By now the PDC published the schedule for the first round.
The tournament will be opened on 3. October with the match between Callan Rydz and Krzysztof Ratajski. The reigning champion Jonny Clayton will stand on stage as well during the first night against Dirk van Duijvenbode as one of four seeded players The last match of the first round will be played on 4. October - the match between Michael Smith and Nathan Aspinall.

WDF Europe Cup
Tomorrow in Gandia, Spain, the WDF Europe Cup 2022 will begin.
Men's Teams from 41 countrys and women's teams from 35 countries take part in it. Eight teams each will be seeded in the Team events. Played as well will be single and pairs events.

World Series of Darts 2023
The PDC already published the venues and the dates of the World Series of Darts 2023.
Again the World Series will consist of five international events and the final. But next year only two events in Down Under will be played - the New Zealand Darts Masters and the New South Wales Darts Masters which again will take place in August. And again the Nordic Darts Masters and the U.S.Darts Masters will be played next year though the Nordic Darts Masters will already take place in January. As well in January the new Bahrain Darts Masters will be played. The final will as this year take place in September in Amsterdam.

PDC Asian Championship
At the weekend the first PDC Asian Championship was played in Fukuoka in Japan. Winner was Christian Perez from the Philippines who defeated in the final his fellow countryman Paolo Nebrida with 7:5. By this Perez qualified for both the PDC World Championship and the Grand Slam of Darts.
Beside Perez runner-up Nebrida and the two semifinalist of the tournament Lourence Ilagan - as well from the Philippines - and Japanese Toro Suzuki qualified for the PDC World Championship too.

PDC World Grand Prix
After the Belgian Darts Open the field of participants is known PDC World Grand Prix. The tournament will beplayed from 3. - 9. Ovtober in Leicester. Ross Smith secured himself the last qualifying spot by progessing into the second round of the Belgian Darts Open.
The draw already took place. Reigning champion Jonny Clayton will open his campaing against Dirk van Duijvenbode while the World Number 1 Gerwyn Price will begin against Martin Schindler and World Champion Peter Wright will play against Kim Huybrechts.

Chisnall wins Belgian Darts Open
With a 8:6 defeat of Andrew Gilding - the surprise player of the event - Dave Chisnall won the Belgian Darts Open. For Chisnall it was the first title since three years. Before Chisnall won on finals day in the third round against Nathan Aspinall and a prevailed in an astonishing one sided quarterfinal 6:2 over Jose des Sousa. In his outstanding semi-final against Danny Noppert Chisnall threw in the first leg a nine-darter. Gilding, who entered the tournament as an unseeded player, defeated on finals day first Niels Zonneveld, eliminated in the quarterfinals Martin Schindler and won a highclass semi-final against Jonny Clayton.

Belgian Darts Open - Day 3
Today the tournament will be played to the end. In the afternoon session the third round will take place, in the evening session quarterfinals, semi-finals and final will be played.
Four of the seeded players were eliminated in the second round. Damon Heta lost a close match to Rusty-Jake Rodriguez, Dimitri van den Bergh was defeated 5:6 by Andrew Gilding. Peter Wright lost with the same result due to a comeback of his opponent Niels van Zonneveld. Michael van Gerwen was defeated 4:6 by Kim Huybrechts who ended the match with a sensational 134 finish (Triple 18, Double 20, Double 20)and punished the Dutchman for his many missed doubles. Huybrechts is the only Belgian player still in the tournament.

Belgian Darts Open - Day 2
On the second day of the tournament the seeded players join the tournament and play against the first round winners. Again an afternoon - and an evening session will take place.
To the disappointment of the impressive Belgian crowd all five Host Nation Qualifiers were eliminated first round while the two Belgian Tour Card Qualifiers Mike de Decker and Kim Huybrechts progressed with wins over Remo Mandiau (one of the Host Nation qualifiers) and Steve West into the second round.

Belgian Darts Open
Today in Wieze in Belgium the Belgian Darts Open - the penultimate European Tour Event of the year and the last which still counts for World Grand Prix in October - will begin.
Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price and Michael Smith withdrew before the draw. Martin Schindler, Gabriel Clemens and Adrian Lewis moved up as seeded players and by the Host Nation Qualifier five tournament places were on offer. Qualified have Andy Baetens, Wouter Vanrolleghem, Roberto Vandaele, Remo Mandiau and Francois Schweyen.
As always on the first day of the tournament today the first round will be played in an afternoon and an evening session. Only the qualifiers will stand at the oche.

PDC World Youth World Championship
This years World Youth Championship will take place after the last Development Tour weekend on 9. October in Wigan. By now already the international qualifiers and the PDC Tour Card holders of eligible age are known. The other tournament places will be secured over Development Order of Merit after the last Development Tour event of the year.

PDC Challenge Tour
At the weekend in Leicester five Events of the PDC Challenge Tour took place. They had with Robert Owen, Wesley Plaisier, Jurjen van der Velde, Christian Kist and Scott Williams five different winners. For Williams it was already the fourth win on the Challenge Tour this year, for van der Velde the second. Williams sits still far ahead on the first place of the Challenge Tour Ranking while Owen moved up to second place just ahead of Danny van Trijp.

Price wins World Series of Darts Final
In an extremly close final Gerwyn Price defeated Dirk van Duijvenbode with 11:10 and for the second time won the World Series title. Van Duijvenbode had most of the times the lead but Price always managed to draw. In the deciding leg it was Price who reached with his higher scores a finish first and with a two-dart 90 Checkout won the match.
Before Price defeated in the semi-finals James Wade with 11:9 while van Duijvenbode prevailed 11:8 over Jonny Clayton.

World Series of Darts Finale - Finals Day
On the last day the tournament it will be played to the end in an afternoon- and an evening session.
The quarterfinals in the afternoon session were a thrilling affair. First Gerwyn Price defeated Joe Cullen with 10:8 in a match in which the lead changed several times and in which Price despite his much higher average never seemed to get rid of Cullen. After that Dirk van Duijvenbode prevailed in a very close and even match with 10:9 over Ryan Joyce. The third quarterfinal was far less hard fought as Michael Smith just never was really in the game - he lost 5:10 to James Wade. In the last quarterfinal reigning champion Jonny Clayton met crowd favourite Michael van Gerwen. Clayton was soon 4:1 in front but van Gerwen settled and got the lead. But Clayton didn't give in, got stronger and stronger and battled back. Van Gerwen had no chance - he lost 7:10.
Tonight in the semi-finals first Gerwyn Price will play against James Wade before reigning champion Clayton will meet Dirk van Duijvenbode, the last Dutchman still in the event.

World Series of Darts Final
In the first round of the event we did see some not expected results. American Leonard Gates prevailed over Devon Petersen and Canadian Matt Campbell won 6:3 against Vincent van der Voort. World Champion Peter Wright had some problems against Fallon Sherrock especially as he had problems to hit his doubles while his opponent was absolutely clinical but he won 6:4.
Wright will play tonight in round 2 against Michael Smith. Reigning champion Jonny Clayton will meet Danny Noppert and Michael van Gerwen will play against the last night convincing Damon Heta.

World Series of Darts Final
Tonight in Amsterdam the final of this year's World Series of Darts will begin.
In the first round today sixteen players will stand at the oche who either were invited or qualified by the qualifier. Among them are beside World Champion Peter Wright - who couldnt take part in all World Series Events - players from the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, North America and South Africa. Wright will play for a place in the second round against Fallon Sherrock.
Tomorrow the seeds will enter the tournament. One of them will reigning champion Jonny Clayton who will play against the winner of the first round match between Simon Whitlock and Danny Noppert.

CDC Premier Darts Circuit
At the weekend the last events of this year's CDC Premier Darts Circuit were played in Waterdown, Canada. They were won by Danny Baggish, Jim Long and Jacob Taylor.
Danny Baggish is after the end of the season head of the table and by this qualified for the PDC World Championship. In second place sits Canadian David Cameron who as the best placed Canadian as well qualified for the PDC World Championship where he will give his debut.

Peter Wright wins in Jena
Peter Wright is the most consitent player of the tournament and wins the final against against Dimitri van den Bergh - who was not in the best of his health on Finals Day - deservedly with 8:6. For Wright it was the first title on the European Tour since 2017, for van den Bergh his second final.
In the semi-finals stood Jose de Sousa and Joe Cullen. Martin Schindler was the only host nation player still in the tournament on Sunday. He lost in the third round to Gerwyn Price.

Tomorrow in Jena, Germany, the German Darts Open will begin. As always on the first day for the first round only the qualifiers will stand at the oche. An afternoon and an evening session will take place.
Michael van Gerwen, Michael Smith, Adrian Lewis and Darren Webster withdrew from the tournament. As a result Dave Chisnall and Martin Schindler move up as seeded players while Ross Smith, Lewy Williams, Steve Beaton and Joe Murnan all get a bye in the first round.

Raymond Smith and Beau Greaves were the winners of the Australian Darts Open. At the Pacific Masters Lisa Ashton and WDF World Champion Neil Duff got the titles. The youth events were won by Mitchell Galby and Faith Kainuku.
Winners of the Australian Murray Bridge Classic were Brandon Weening and Melina van den Kieboom.
Winners of the Antwerp Open were Jamie Lewis and Aletta Wajer, the Belgium Open were won by Wesley Plaisier and Laura Turner. The youth events saw two players pick up title doubles - Enrico Frank and Jana Leys. The Swedish Open were won by Kai Fan Leung and Lorraine Winstanley, the Swedish Masters by Dennie Olde Kalter and Aileen de Graaf.
In New Zealand as well a ranking event took place. At the John Wilkie Memorial Jonathan Tata and Weny Harper got the titles while the youth event was won by Jack Sheppard.

Cullen wins Hungarian Darts Trophy
Joe Cullen defeated William O'Connor in the final of the Hungarian Darts Trophy with 8:2 and won the title. So in the end one of the seeded players was the winner. Cullen showed his best performances in the semi-final and final.
With Nathan Aspinall another seed reached the semi-finals. The other semi-finalist was Dave Chisnall.

Hungarian Darts Trophy
Today in Budapest the Hungarian Darts Trophy will be played to the end. In the afternoon-session the third round will take place, in the evening session quarterfinals, semi-finals and the final will follow.
Ten from fifteen seeded players didn't survive the second round - among them Michael van Gerwen who once again was defeated by Simon Whitlock. Peter Wright as well was eliminated despite he played really well at his first appearance after his surgery by Jim Williams.

On the second day of the Hungarian Darts Trophy the seeded players play against the first round winners. Again an afternoon and an evening session will take place.

Hungarian Darts Trophy
Today in Budapest the Hungarian Darts Trophy will begin. As always on the first day for the first round only the qualifiers will stand at the oche. An afternoon and an evening session will take place.
The tournament will be opened by the match between German Frank Roetzsch and Latvian Madars Razma. With Andras Borbely, Levente Sarai, Pal Szekely and Janos Vegsö four Hungarian qualifiers will stand on stage today. One of the highlights probably will be the match between Raymond van Barneveld and Rowby-John Rodriguez in the evening session.

On Friday in Budapest the Hungarian Darts Trophy will begin, the tenth event of the European Tour this year.
All participants are known, the draw took place and the PDC published the schedule of the first and second round. Participants of the first round include Raymond van Barneveld who will play first round against Rowby-John Rodriguez.
Reigning champion Gerwyn Price will play his first match in the second round against the winner of the first round match between Franz Roetzsch and Madars Razma.

All four events at the weekend were won convincingly by the reigning WDF World Champion Beau Greaves who defeated in three of the finals Mikuru Suzuki and in one Aileen de Graaf. Thanks to the successful weekend Greaves now sits in the fourth place of the ranking while Aileen de Graaf sits in third place and Suzuki moved up to the sixth place. Lisa Ashton, who heads the ranking, had not the best of weekends - best result was the semi -final in 14. Event where she lost to Mikuru Suzuki.
Most successful German participant was Stefanie Rennoch, who reached the quarterfinals in Event 14 und the semi-finale in Event 16.
The Women's Series Season will be played to the end on 29. and 30. October in Wigan.

Price wins New Zealand Darts Masters
Gerwyn Price defeated Jonny Clayton in an all Welsh final 8:4 and got his first title on the World Series. Price defeated on the second day of the tournament James Wade and Dimitri van den Bergh while Clayton prevailed over Michael van Gerwen - who once again had a lot of double trouble - and Michael Smith. Smith elimnated in the quarterfinals the last Oceanic player still in the event - Kayden Milne - with 6:0.
Gordon Mathers was awarded as best Ozeanic player in the three events played in Australia and New Zealand the new Kyle Anderson Trophy. For Rod Harrington today begins the retirement.

Today and tomorrow the PDC Women's Series will continue with the events 13 - 16 in Hildesheim, Germany.

New Zealand Darts Masters Day 1
On the first day of the New Zealand Darts Masters with the exception of Fallon Sherrock all PDC players won their matches. Sherrock lost 5:6 against World Series debutant Kayden Mile who for the first time ever played on stage. Sherrock had a matchdart in the decider but she missed and again was defeated on the World Series.
The best performances showed Gerwyn Price againt Ben Robb and Dimitri van den Bergh against an as well strong playing Simon Whitlock.

World Series of Darts - New Zealand Darts Masters
Tomorrow in Hamilton, New Zealand, the New Zealand Darts Masters will begin. Again the eight PDC players will play against eight Ozeanic qualifiers.
Michael van Gerwen, who won the last New Zealand Darts Masters in 2019, will begin his way to defend the title against Bernie Smith. Jonny Clayton, the winner of last weeks New South Wales Darts Masters, was drawn against Mal Cuming while number 1 seed Dimitri van den Bergh will play against Simon Whitlock.

PDC Development Tour
At the weekend in Hildesheim, Germany, five events of the PDC Development Tour were played. Two of the tournaments were won by Josh Rock who beside stood in another final. The other winners were Gian van Veen, Lewy Williams and Nathan Rafferty. Josh Rock now heads the ranking followed by Nathan Rafferty for whom it was the third win this year on the Development Tour.

Clayton gewinnt New South Wales Darts Masters
Jonny Clayton was dominant in the final of the New South Wales Darts Masters and defeated James Wade with 8:1 and won his first PDC title of the year.
Clayton, for whom it was the second World Series title, defeated yesterday Hauhai Puha and prevailed today over Michael Smith and Joe Cullen before he met Wade in the final. Wade reached the final with wins against Gordon Mathers, Dimitri van den Bergh and Gerwyn Price. Michael van Gerwen, who won last week the Queensland Darts Masters was eliminated first round by Simon Whitlock.

World Series of Darts - New South Wales Darts Masters
Today and tomorrow the World Series of Darts will continue with the New South Wales Darts Masters in Wollongong, Australia.
Again in the first round the eight PDC Top players will play against eight Ozeanic qualifiers. Six of the qualifiers already took part last week in the Queensland Darts Masters. Instead of Bailey Marsh and Joe Comito this week Mal Cuming and Raymond O'Donnell will stand at the oche. At the weekend the Nordic and Baltic Tour ended with four events in Latvia.
Three events were won by Darius Labanauskas, one by Daniel Larsson. The two players sit on the first and second place of the ranking and by this qualify for the PDC World Championship 2022/23.

On the Circuit of the Championship Darts Corporation as well events took place at the weekend - three tournaments were played in Brownsville, Indiana. There were three different winners. Beside Jacob Taylor and Matt Campbell - who already celebrated wins on the Circuit this year - Larry Butler brilliantely won an event. In the other two events he once reached a semi-final and once a quarterfinal.

Van Gerwen wins Queensland Darts Masters
Michael van Gerwen recovered from 1:4 behind against Gerwyn Price, prevailed with 8:5 and won the Queensland Darts Masters. Before he defeated in the quarterfinals Haupai Puha and in the semi-finals Joe Cullen. Against Cullen he had a hitting rate on the doubles of 100 percent. Price defeated in the quarterfinals Simon Whitlock and prevailed in the semi-finals over Gordon Mathers, the only oceanic player in the semi-finals who eliminated Michael Smith in the quarters.
The World Series will continue on 19. and 20. August with the New South Wales Darts Masters.

World Series of Darts - Queensland Darts Masters - Day 1
With James Wade, Jonny Clayton and Fallon Sherrock on the first day already three PDC Pros were elimnated by Simon Whitlock, Haupai Puha and Gordon Mathers. Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen only just won in the deciding leg against Damon Heta and Bailey Marsh. No problems on the other side had Dimitri van den Bergh, Joe Cullen and Michael Smith, who progressed with commanding wins into the quarterfinals. Joe Cullen impressed with an 108.65 average - the highest of the first round.

World Series of Darts - Queensland Darts Masters
Tomorrow the World Series of Darts will continue with the Queensland Darts Masters. Eight PDC players will play against eight Oceanic players.
The draw already took place. As in the final of the PDC World Cup Damon Heta will meet Gerwyn Price. At the World Cup Heta won the the match 4:0.

Winners of the New Zealand Open in Rotorua were Victoria Monaghan and Ben Robb.
At the England Open Beau Greaves and David Pallett won the titles. Winners of the England National Singles were Scott Marsh and Rhian O'Sullivan. Luke Littler and Hannah Meek won the youth events of the England Open.
Paul Lim won in Tokyo both the Bud Brick Memorial and the Japan Open. The women's event of the Japan Open won Mikuru Suzuki, the women's event of the Bud Brick Memorials won Mayumi Ouchi.
Veronika Ihasz won the titles of both the Apatin Open and the Serbian Open. The men's titles went to Dean Biskupic and Patrick Kovacs.



PDC World Grand Prix
The PDC World Grand Prix will be the next important PDC Major. As last year it will take place in the Morningside Arena in Leicester as the Citywest Hotel in Dublin is not available at the date.

Wins for Aspinall, Brown and Cross in Barnsley
At the Players Championships in Barnsley Nathan Aspinall, Keegan Brown and Rob Cross were successful.
Nathan Aspinall won the 22. Players Championship with a 8:3 defeat of Krzysztof Ratajski, the semi-finals reached Ryan Searle and Danny Noppert.
Keegan Brown secured at the 23. Players Championship his first PDC title since seven years. He defeated in the final Nathan Aspinall with 8:7. Ted Evetts and Peter Wright stood in the semi-finals.
Rob Cross prevailed in Players Championship 24 with 8:3 over Luke Humphries and won his first PDC title of the year. The semi-finals reached Martin Schindler and Chris Dobey.

Nine players managed yesterday to qualify for both the European Tour Event in Belgium and the European Tour Event in Gibraltar: Martin Schindler, Gabriel Clemens, Steve Beaton, Vincent van der Voort, Rusty-Jake Rodriguez, Chris Dobey, Keane Barry, Ryan Meikle and Jeff Smith.

August the Tour Card Holders Qualifier for the World Series of Darts Finale will take place - eight tournament places are on offer.

Van Gerwen gets third World Matchplay Title
In a close final against Gerwyn Price in the end van Gerwen prevailed with 18:14 and for the third time won the World Matchplay title. Price started stronger in the match and thanks to his clinical finishing and despite his lower scores got the lead. Van Gerwen scored clearly better but had a lot of problems to find a double despite a nine-darter in leg 5. But nearer the end of the match Price lost his accuracy on the doubles while van Gerwen hit his doubles much better and deservedly won the match and the tournament.

Sherrock wins Women's World Matchplay
Fallon Sherrock wrote history once again and won with a 6:3 win over Aileen de Graaf the inaugural Women's World Matchplay title. By this she qualified for the Grand Slam in November.
Before Sherrock defeated Katie Sheldon and Lorraine Winstanley while Aileen de Graaf reached the final with wins over Laura Turner and Lisa Ashton.

World Matchplay - Semifinals
Both semi-finals were highclass matches but the second semi-final between Michael van Gerwen and Dimitri van den Bergh was a rather weary looking match and both players - even the winner Michael van Gerwen - failed to convince. The first match between Gerwyn Price and Danny Noppert was a captivating match and especially the winner Gerwyn Price impressed with his performance.
So in the final today Gerwyn Price will play against Michael van Gerwen.

World Matchplay - Day 7
The second quarterfinals day was thrilling and high-class as well and both were matches with twists and turns. First Danny Noppert defeated in an all Dutch quarterfinal Dirk van Duijvenbode. The match started rather evenly with slight advantages for van Duijvenbode. But nearer the end Noppert over came his scoring problems and managed to pull clear. The match between Price and de Sousa first was dominated by Price. But de Sousa got stronger and almost managed to force a tiebreak. In the end Price won 16:14 and by this win is back on the first place in the PDC Order of Merit.
Noppert and Price will meet in the semi-finals on Saturday.

Today at the World Matchplay the last two quarterfinals will take place.
The evening will begin with the all Dutch quarterfinal between the two World Cup partners Danny Noppert and Dirk van Duijvenbode. After that Gerwyn Price will play against Jose de Sousa.

On the sixth day of the event Dimitri van den Bergh dethroned reigning champion Peter Wright - he defeated him in the first quarterfinal with 16:14. It was a quarterfinal in which the lead switched several times and in which the Belgian managed to keep his nerve. The second quarterfinal looked rather one-sided and Michael van Gerwen stormed into a 11:4 lead. But Nathan Aspinall didn't give in easily and started a strong comeback. In the end the Dutchman won 16:14.
Van den Bergh and van Gerwen will meet on Saturday in the semi-finals.

In the so far best match of the tournament on the last day of the second round an emotional Jose de Sousa defeated Rob Cross with 11:8, both players had an average of over 103. Gerwyn Price prevailed similarily close over Dave Chisnall - a match with two different halves. First Dave Chisnall was strong, but after the second break he couldn't keep up and now Price dominated the action. Other winners of the night were an once again commanding Danny Noppert and Dirk van Duijvenbode, who won 11:7 against a far from his best Michael Smith who had problems to hit his doubles.

On the fifth day of the tournament in Blackpool the second round will be played to the end.
The evening will start with the match between Daryl Gurney and Danny Noppert. After that Jose de Sousa will play against Rob Cross - the only player of the night who already won the World Matchplay. In the third match Gerwyn Price will meet Dave Chisnall. In the last match of the night and the second round number 3 seed Michael Smith will clash with Dirk van Duijvenbode.

On the first second round evening reigning champion Peter Wright stood against Krzystztof Ratajski on the stage. Ratajski fell clearly behind, but came back strong. Only in the tiebreak the reigning champion managed a 13:11 win. The other winners of the night were Dimitri van den Bergh who convinced against Rowby-John Rodriguez, Nathan Aspinall, who prevailed in a close match over James Wade and Michael van Gerwen who was very much improved compared to his first match and had no problems at all with Joe Cullen.

The last day of the first round was not a lucky day for the German participants Gabriel Clemens and Martin Schindler - both lost their matches and were eliminated from the tournament. Clemens lost to a surprisingly strong Jose de Sousa, Schindler was defeated in a close match 10:8 by Gerwyn Price who got stronger in the second half of the match. The other two matches were won by the seeds as well - Rob Cross defeated in an unbelievable comeback from 2:8 down Chris Dobey in the tiebreak with 11:9, Dave Chisnall won a good match at the end of the first round with 10:7 against Kim Huybrechts.

On the third day of the tournament in Blackpool the first round will be played till the end in an evening-session.

Over the weekend in Hildesheim, Germany, five Challenge Tour Events were played.
There were five different winners, the Dutchmen Danny van Trijp, Gian van Veen and Jurjen van der Velde, Belgian Kenny Neyens and Englishman Dave Pallett. For van Trijp it was already the second win on the Challenge Tour and he moved up to place two in the Challenge Tour Order of Merit. For the other four winners it was the first win though Pallett reached the final twice at the weekend. In Event 12 he lost to van Trijp.

World Matchplay - Day 2
On the second day of the tournament with Gary Anderson and Luke Humphries two more seeded players were unexpectedly eliminated. Anderson lost 7:10 against a solid playing Daryl Gurney, Humphries couldn't keep up with a reinvigorated Nathan Aspinall and lost with 5:10. The match between Michael Smith and Andrew Gilding was the first match which went into over time - Smith won with 11:9. Beside Dirk van Duijvenbode and Danny Noppert won their matches - both with averages of over 100. Joe Cullen demolished Damon Heta - who had a pitchblack day - with 10:2 and James Wade and Michael van Gerwen were the winners of the two poorest matches of the day.

PDC Pro Tour
At the weekend in Barnsley three Players Championships took place and they had with Dirk van Duijvenbode, Danny Noppert and Adrian Lewis three different winners. For Lewis it was the first Players Championship win since March 2019 and he secured by the win his participation in the World Matchplay. Van Duijvenbode and Noppert already were qulaified for the event. Van Duijvenbode defeated in the final Gabriel Clemens, Danny Noppert prevailed over Andrew Gilding who by reaching the final ensured his World Matchplay place. Adrian Lewis won against Boris Koltsov who for the first time reached a Pro Tour final.
Today another Players Championship will be played in Barnsley. After that all participants in the World Matchplay will be known.

John Gwynne passed away
Today sports broadcaster John Gwynne lost his battle with cancer and passed away aged 77.
Gwynne, who initially worked as a teacher, was from 1993 to 2013 part of the sky sports team of commentators - originally together with Dave Lanning and Sid Waddell - and commentated among others twenty times the darts World Championship and twenty times the World Matchplay.
Beside darts football was his big passion, his favourite club was Manchester City. As a broadcaster he was for many years involved in Sky's Soccer Saturday programme as well and commentated beside on cricket, rugby and speedway. In addition he did his best to keep the Manchester darts Log-End tradition alive and worked as MC and referee for many dart players in exhibitions.
I was fortuned to be aquainted with John, he was unbelievable knowledgeable had a delightful sense of humor, he was a convinced European with a yen for fish and chips and he admired Bert Trautman. I will miss him. RIP John, I offer my condolences to his family and friends.

Qualifiers ET 10 and 11
Yesterday in Barnsley the qualifiers for the European Tour Events 10 and 11 in Budapest and Jena took place. Eight players qualified for both events: Dave Chisnall, Daryl Gurney, Raymond van Banrveld, Ian White, Martin Lukeman, Jim Williams, Jeff Smith and Josh Rock.
Cameron Menzies threw a nine-darter and Steve Beaton played on his way to qualify for Jena an astronomical 118.19 average.

Mal Cuming and Tori Kewish were the winners of the Victoria Classic in Australia. At the first Kyle Anderson Memorial a youth event to honour the so young and unexpected deceased Kyle Anderson Terence Morton and Brianna Pickett won the titles. In New Zealand New Zealand Masters were played,the new champions are Haupai Puha and Wendy Harper. Ben Robb and Nicole Regnaud won the South Island Masters, as well in New Zealand. Beau Greaves was the winner of the Romania Open while Jitka Cisarova won the Romanian Classic.The Men's titles went to Patrick Kovacs and Luke Littler. Jitka Cisarova was well won the Balaton Classic, Benjamin Pratnemer won the Balaton Masters. Andras Borbely and Dorina Sipos both won the two youth titles.
Winners of the Canadian Open in Toronto were Nick Smith and Maria Carli(Mason). Danny Lauby got his third title on the WDF Circuit in America at the Cherry Bomb International, the women's title won Maria Carli as well. The winners of the youth events were PJ Stuart and Madison Crank.

Humphries wins European Darts Matchplay
In a very close final in the end Luke Humphries prevailed 8:7 over Rowby-John Rodriguez and won his fourth European Tour title of the year. Before Humphries defeated on finals day Lukas Wenig, Ian White and Stephen Bunting. Rodriguez reached his first European Tour final with wins over Gabriel Clemens, Nathan Aspinall and Madars Razma - a match which as well was won in the deciding leg.

Thornton wins World Seniors Matchplay
Robert Thornton won after the World Seniors Championship now the World Seniors Matchplay as well. This time his opponent in the final was Phil Taylor, who missed with his matchdarts and lost 10:12.
Before Thornton won on finals day in the quarterfinal against Terry Jenkins and in the semi-finals in a good match against Martin Adams. Taylor prevailed on finals day in the quarterfinal over Peter Manley and in the semi-finals in overtime 12:10 over Kevin Painter.

European Darts Matchplay - Finals Day
Today the European Darts Matchplay in Trier will be played to the end. In the afternoon the third round will take place, in the evening-session quarterfinals, semi-finals and final will follow.
The second day of the tournament was not a good day for the seeds - only six of them won their matches. Dimitri van den Bergh was the best player of the day with an average of 110.83. The other seed who reached the third round were Rob Cross, Nathan Aspinall, Stephen Bunting, Damon Heta and Luke Humphries. With the impressive playing Lukas Wenig and the as well good Gabriel Clemens two German players are still in the tournament.

World Seniors Matchplay - Finals Day
On the second day of the World Seniors Matchplay Colin McGarry again showed the best performancce - he demolished Peter Evison, the winner of the PDC World Matchplay 1996, with 8:0 and an average of 95.42. Beside Terry Jenkins, Peter Manley, Robert Thornton, Martin Adams and Lisa Ashton won their matches. Ashton defeated Paul Hogan first round and after that in round 2 American Larry Butler - the winner of the very first PDC World Matchplay.

European Darts Matchplay - Day 2
On the second day of the event the seeded players play in an afternoon- and an evening-session against the first round winners.
From the German players only Dragutin Horvat was eliminated by a solid playing Madars Razma. The best average of the first round played Cameron Menzies with 101.64 in his 6:3 win over Niels Zonneveld. Other impressive players were Wesley Plaisier and Callan Rydz. Rowby-John Rodriguez caused an upset by eliminating Danny Noppert from the tournament.

World Seniors Matchplay - Day 2
On the first night of the World Seniors Matchplay two first round and two second round matches were played. Winners of the first round matches were Deta Hedman and Colin McGarry who had with 89.73 the highest average of the night. Deta Hedman came on stage again for her second round match against Phil Taylor. Again Taylor couldn't convince but got a hard fought 8:4 win. Only in the second half of the match the record world champion threw a few good legs. In the other second round match a solid playing Kevin Painter defeated John Lowe with 8:0.
Today in the afternoon session two first round and two second round matches will be played while in the evening-session the last four second round matches will take place.

European Darts Matchplay
Today in Trier, Germany, the European Darts Matchplay will begin - the ninth event of the European Tour 2022.
As always on the first day in an afternoon - and an evening-session the qualifiers will play the first round.
Peter Wright, Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith withdrew. So Chris Dobey, Luke Woodhouse and Gabriel Clemens get a bye for the first round and will enter the event in round 2. As a results this afternoon only six matches will be played and tonight only seven instead of eight per session.

The PDC confirmed the November dates of its tournament calender. So on 4. und 5. November the last two Players Championships will be played followed by the Tour Card Holder Qualifer for the Grand Slam of Darts. The Grand Slam of Darts will take place from 12. - 20. November in Wolverhampton. From 25. - 27. November the Players Championship Finals will be played in Minehead. After that on 28. November the Tour Card Holders Qualifier for the PDC World Championship will be played in Barnsley.

20 players will take part in the tournament - 17 were invited among them Phil Taylor and Larry Butler the winner of the first World Matchplay of the PDC. PDC Women's Series
Lisa Ashton was once again the most successful player of the weekend and won two of the four events and beside once reached a semi-final. Fallon Sherrock won one event and reached one semi-final and one quarterfinal. Lorraine Winstanley as well won one event and as well reached one semi-final and one quarterfinal. Those three players sit in the first three places of the ranking.
So they are among the Top Eight of the Women's Series Order of Merit who were qualified after the weekend for the Women's World Matchplay in July in Blackpool. The other five players who qualified are Aileen de Graaf, Laura Turner, Rhian Griffiths, Katie Sheldon and Chloe O'Brien.

Van den Bergh wins in Amsterdam as well
Dimitri van den Bergh wins after the Nordic Darts Masters the Dutch Darts Masters in Amsterdam as well. He defeated in the final Dirk van Duijvenbode with 8:2 and the highest average of the tournament of 104.60.
Before he defeated in the quarterfinals Jermaine Wattimena with 6:1 and in the semi-finals Danny Noppert with 7:2. Van Duiijvenbode won in the quarterfinals with 6:4 against Martijn Kleermaker and prevailed in a close semi-final 7:6 over James Wade.

Tomorrow in Amsterdam the Dutch Darts Masters will begin - the next event of the PDC World Series of Darts.

Winner of the German Masters - which took place for the first time since 2019 - were Stefanie Lück and Ole Holtkamp. The youth events won Wibke Riemann and Liam Maendl-Lawrance. Winner of the team competition was Team 1 of the HDV.
For the WDF Europe Cup, which will be played from 2022 28. September - 1. October in Spain the following men and women were nominated: Ole Holtkamp, Daniel Zygla, Erik Tautfest, Jens Ziegler, Monique Leßmeister, Lena Zollikofer, Lisa Zollikofer and Irina Armstrong.

Australien wins PDC World Cup
Team Australia defeated in the final of the PDC World Cup in Frankfurt the Welsh team with 3:1 and for the first time wins the World Cup. Damon Heta prevailed both over Gerwyn Price and over Jonny Clayton, Simon Whitlock defeated Jonny Clayton. Team Wales only won the doubles.
Before the Australians defeated in the quarterfinals in the afternoon-session Team Begium in the deciding pairs match. In the evening-session in the semifinals the English team had no chance against Team Australia. Wales won on finals day in the quarterfinals against Team Germany and demolished in the semi-finals Team Netherlands.

PDC World Cup
The third day with the second round stayed without an upset as well. For the first time in the history of the tournament all eight seeded teams prevailed and progressed into the quarterfinals though some needed a double.
Reigning champion Team Scotland needed a double to defeat Team Portugal. In the afternoon session it will play against Team England in the quarterfinals.

On the first day of the PDC World Cup the winners were the Teams from Denmark, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland, Austria, Northern Ireland, Wales, Germany and the Netherlands.

Michael Smith and Scott Williams won in Niedernhausen one Players Championship each.

Winners of the Dutch Open were Jelle Klaasen and Beau Greaves who prevailed in the finals over Mark Barilli and Rhian O'Sullivan respectively. Klaasen is by this qualified for the next WDF World Championship for which Greaves already was qualified. Greaves is now the WDF women's number 1.
Mikuru Suzuki and Jun Matsuda were the winners of the West Japan Cup. Dutchman Alexander Merkx and Margaret Sutton from England won the Lithunian Open. John Scott as well was a winner in Lithunia. The PDC by now as well announced the draw and the deteailed schedule of the first round of the tournament which will begin on Thursday in Frankfurt, Germany.
The tournament will be opened by the match between Team Denmark and Team Singapore. Van Gerwen wins sixth Premier League title
The Play-Offs in Berlin started with two astonishing one-sided semifinals - Joe Cullen first defeated Jonny Clayton with 10:4, after that Michael van Gerwen prevailed with the same result over James Wade.
The final between Michael van Gerwen and Joe Cullen on the other side was a very close and thrilling match, in which none of the players really managed to pull clear. In the deciding leg Cullen missed his matchdart, Michael van Gerwen kept his nerve and hit the double 14 for the 11:10 win and the title.

Dimitri van den Bergh wins the Nordic Darts Masters Copenhagen. He defeats in the final Gary Anderson with 11:5.
Van den Bergh dominated the event and showed the best matches while last year's winner and runner-up both lost in the quarterfinals. Van Gerwen lost to James Wade, Fallon Sherrock to Michael Smith. None of the Nordic und Baltic players won their first round match, they all showed mostly meager performances.

PDC Development Tour
At the weekend in Hildesheim, Germany, five events of the PDC Development Tour took place. Young Irishman Keane Barry was the outstanding player - he stood in one semi-final, lost once in a final and won two of the events. He now heads the Development Tour Ranking. The other three events were won by Nathan Rafferty, Geert Nentjes and Sebastian Bialecki.
Best young German player was Niko Springer, who once stood among the Top 16 and lost in the final of the 13. event to Geert Nentjes.

PDC Nordic und Baltic Tour
On the Nordic und Baltic Tour several events were played at the weekend as well.
By the two European Tour Qualifiers Daniel Larsson qualified both for the tournament in Budapest, Hungary and for the tournament in Jena, Germany.
The events 3 and 4 of the PDC Nordic and Baltic Tour were won by Darius Labanauskas and Dennis Nilsson.

Smith wins US Darts Masters
With a 8:4 win over Michael van Gerwen in the final Michael Smith won the title of the first US Darts Masters which took place in the Hulu Theatre of the Madison Square Garden in New York.
Before Smith defeated on finals day in the quarterfinals Gary Anderson and in the semi-finals world Champion Peter Wright. Michael van Gerwen reached the finale with wins over James Wade and Gerwyn Price.

Gates wins North American Championship
Leonard Gates from Texas wins this year's North American Championship which was played like the US Darts Masters for the first time in the Hulu Theatre of the Madison Square Garden in New York. By this Gates secured beside the price money for the first time a place in the PDC Wold Championship in December in London.
Gates defeated in the final reigning champion Danny Baggish with 6:3. Gates reached the final with wins over Jules van Dongen and David Cameron while Baggish prevailed over Dough Boehm and Danny Lauby.

With the exception of Fallon Sherrock all PDC representatives won their first round matches. Sherrock lost 2:6 to Leonard Gates who will now play in the quarterfinals against Peter Wright.
Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price had against the American number 1 Danny Baggish and Canadian David Cameron respectively no easy matches but both won 6:4. Michael van Gerwen had some problems against Jules van Dongen as well as he was far from clinical on his doubles. A completely different problem Gary Anderson had to fix - he had to play with borrowed darts.

By now all players are known who will take part in this year's PDC World Cup. Two of the nations which count to the circle of favourites to win the event will this year stand in an new pairing at the oche. In the Dutch team this year Michael van Gerwen will be absent due to his arm surgery - Danny Noppert and Dirk van Duijvenbode will be Team Netherlands. The English team will consist of Michael Smith and James Wade - both already took part in the World Cup but with other partners. Gary Anderson once again will give the World Cup a miss - Peter Wright and John Henderson as Team Scotland will get the chance to defend the title.

At the World ParaDarts Winmau World Trophy 2022 seven competitions were played and the participants from Belgium dominated. The men's wheelchair singles were won by Belgian Vincent D'Hondt. At the men's standing singles Belgian Evi Foulon secured the title who together fellow country man Kurt Vanderkerckhove won the men's sinding pairs as well. The men's wheelchair pairs won the Belgian pair Serge van Belle/Vincent D'Hondt. The final of the standing women's singles was an all German affair - Gabi Wehrt defeated Binanca Strauch with 3:1. Winner of the women's wheelchair singles was Belgian Chloe Francq and of course the team event was won by Team Belgium.

As the City West Convention Centre in Dublin this year again will not be available for the PDC World Grand Prix event will take place as last year in the Morningside Arena in Leicester.

Michael van Gerwen requires Surger due to a Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in his throwing arm. The operation will take place after the Premier League Play-Offs. Van Gerwen will not be able to play Players Championships 16-19 nor the PDC World Cup of Darts but hopes to be back for the Dutch Darts Masters Ende Juni. But of course he has to wait and see. That means this year Dirk van Duijvenbode and Danny Noppert will be the Team Netherlands in the PDC World Cup.
Joe Cullen and Jonny Clayton are the last two PDC representives who were confirmed for the World Series Events in Australia and New Zealand in August.

Cameron wins World Seniors Darts Masters
Again no happy end for Phil Taylor on the World Seniors Darts Tour - he lost in the final of the World Seniors Masters with 3:6 against Canadian David Cameron. Cameron who had qualified by the qualifier for the tournament could finally celebrate on the stage of the Lakeside Country Club. All in all seven times he already stood on this stage during BDO World Championships and the WDF World Championship 2022 but never he progressed further then the second round.
Cameron was a deserved tournament winner, he was obviously the best player of the tournament. Taylor was improved compared to the World Seniors Championship but not enough to win the final.
Cameron defeated on finals day in the quarterfinals Colin Monk and then prevaied in the semi-finals - the best match of the tournament - over Richie Howson. Taylor defeated in the quarterfinals in a hard-fought match Les Wallace and in the semi-finals Tony O'Shea.

Tonight in the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green the World Seniors Darts Masters will begin.
Twenty players will battle for the win. Premier League - Win for Smith on the last League Day
For Michael Smith his Premier League campain ended positive - he defeated in the final of the 16. League Day Jonny Clayton, got his only day win of the season and the 10 000 pound bonus and moved up on the sixth place of the table. Joe Cullen defeated Peter Wright in the battle for the fourth play-off place and will play in the semi-finals on 13. June in Berlin against table leader and reigning champion Jonny Clayton. Premier League - Sixteenth League Day
For the 16. and last League Day Premier League travels to Newcastle.
In the lime-light tonight will be the quarterfinal between Joe Cullen and Peter Wright - the winner will qualify for the Play-Off's. The PDC announced the nations participating in the PDC World Cup which will be played from 16. - 19. June in Frankfurt. New Zealand and Latvia will be back, they couldn't take part last year. Back as well for the first time since 2018 will be Switzerland while China this year can't take part due to travel issues.

Luke Humphries wins a close and high class final in Stuttgart over Rob Cross with 8:7 and gets his second succesive European Tour title.
Before Humphries defeated on finals day Joe Murnan, Brendan Dolan and in in the semi-finals an today great playing Peter Wright. Rob Cross reached the final today with wins over Krzysztof Ratajski, Rowby-John Rodriguez and Damon Heta. Heta defeated in the quarterfinals Martin Schindler - the last German still in the event.

Joe Cullen wins the final of the fifteenth League Day 6:4 against Jonny Clayton and is back on a play-off place though with the same number of points as Peter Wright who drops to fifth place. The most successful player of the Welsh Open/Classic weekend was Luke Littler, who won both youth events and the Welsh Open. The Women's event of the Welsh Open won World Champion Beau Greaves. The titles of the Welsh Classic got Fallon Sherrock and Barry Copeland . The girl's title of the Welsh Open went to Paige Pauling. Littler and Greaves are already qualified by winning the Welsh Open for the WDF World Championships 2023. As well already qualified are Sebastian Bialecki and Deta Hedman as Denmark Open winners. The Denmark Masters were won by James Richardson and Suzanne Smith. Both youth titles won Nikolaj Jorgensen.
James Hurrell and Deta Hedman were the winners of the Sottish Open. Dave Prins won the Isle of Man Open, James Hurrell the Isle of Man Classic. Beau Greaves won both women's titles. The boys title won Luke Littler, the girl's event was won by Amy Evans. Hurrell and Prins are already qualified for the next WDF World Championship as well.
Danny Lauby won the Cleveland Extravaganza in the USA, teenager Aaja Jalabert secured both the girl's and the weomn's title , PJ Stewart won the boy's event.

Michael Smith dominated the two Players Championships on Tuesday and Wednesday in Wigan - he won on both days. Yesterday in Wigan the Tour Card holders qualifiers for the European Tour Events 8 and 9 in Zwolle, Netherlands, and in Trier, Germany, took place.
Jermaine Wattimena, Steve Lennon, Niels Zonneveld, Chris Dobey, Callan Rydz, James Hughes, Mervyn King and Madars Razma qualified for both events.

At the weekend in Wigan a Development Tour Event weekend took place - five events were played. There were five different winners. On Friday Nathan Rafferty and Jurjen van der Velde won an event each, on Saturday Conor Heneghan and Nathan Girvan were the winners. The event on Sunday won Geert Nentjes.

Win for van Gerwen in Leverkusen
In Leverkusen again the winner was Michael van Gerwen - he defeated Dimitri van den Bergh with 8:5.
On finals day van Gerwen prevailed over Jonny Clayton, Dirk van Duijvenbode - in the deciding leg - and Luke Humphries before he met van den Bergh in the final. Van den Bergh eliminated in the third round German Martin Schindler - the last German player still in the event -, defeated in the quarterfinals the upcoming Northern Irish player Josh Rock and then had a bye in the semi-finals, as his opponent James Wade didn't feel well after his quarterfinals win against Ryan Searle and withdrew from the tournament.

With a 6:5 win over Jonny Clayton in the final of the twelfth League Day James Wade got his second day win of the season and moves up to the third place of the table. With Wade and Clayton the two outstanding players of the night met in the final. In a surprise final in Munic Luke Humphries defeated Martin Lukeman with 8:2 and got his first European Tour title. Greaves and Duff win World Champion titles
Beau Greaves win of the women's World Champion title was the highlight of the finals day. Greaves played the highest average of the night and showed by far the most commanding performance. She defeated Kirsty Hutchinson with 4:0.
The men's final was a close but not really high class match. Neil Duff had a slow start into the match but then was the slightly stronger player and defeated Thibault Tricole with 6:5.
The boys event was won by Dutchman Bradley Roes. The girl's title went to Eleanor Cairns from England.

WDF World Championships
Finals Day in the Lakeside Country Club. The last session will start with the girls final in which Eleanor Cairns from England will meet German Wiebke Rieman. After that in the boys final Englishman Charlie Large will play against Dutch Bradley Roes. Next on will the all English women's final between Kirsty Hutchinson and Beau Greaves. The men's final will end the WDF World Championships 2022 and it is a final without English participation. Never before in a World Championship the final had been an Northern Irish v French affair.

WDF World Championships - Day 8
On day 8 in the Lakeside Country Club the Semifinals of the boys, men and women wook place and most results were an upset.
In the boy's event it was not Leighton Bennett who progressed into the final but Charlie Large beside Dutch Bradley Roes.
In the women's event Kristy Hutchinson eliminated Rhian O'Sullivan who from the averages was by far the strongest player of the event. But it is not a surprise she will play against Beau Greaves in the final who was by far too much for Lorraine Winstanley. In the men's event those players progressed who had been the outsiders in their semi-final - Northern Irishman Neil Duff uand Frenchman Thibault Tricole.

WDF World Championships - Day 7
On the seventh day both in the women's and in the men's events the quarterfinals were played. Both men's quarterfinals in the afternoon-session were very close and in both the losers had matchdarts as well. Neil Duff won the thriller against Jim McEwan while Thibault Tricole prevailed over Andy Baetens. The men's quarterfinals in the evening session were not as hard fought - Richard Veenstra defeated Brian Raman and only just missed a nine-darter to win the match. Cameron Menzies had no problems at all against James Hurrell and won 4:0.
In the women's event Rhian O'Sullivan once again impressed with the highest average of 89.21 and had no problems against Maria O'Brien. Similar strong played Beau Greaves against Aileen de Graaf. Beside Kirsty Hutchinson and Lorraine Winstanley won their quarterfinals.

Today in Barnsley the next Pro Tour weekend will begin.
Today the Tour Card qualifiers for the European Tour Events 6 and 7 in Prague and Leverkusen take place. On Saturday and Sunday the Players Championships 12 and 13 will follow.

Today in the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green the quarterfinals of the men and the women will be played. Both in the afternoon- and in the evening-session two men's and two women's matches will take place.
In the women's event in the afternoon among others Rhian O'Sullivan - who played the so far highest women's average - will play against Maria O'Brien. In the evening session the match between Aileen de Graaf and Beau Greaves could get interesting. In the men's event the two quarterfinals with Belgian participation will be in the limelight. In the afternoon-session Thibault Tricole will play against Andy Baetens, in the evening-session Brian Raman will clash with Richard Veenstra.

WDF World Championships - Day 6
On the sixth day in the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green the third round of the men and the second round of the women were played to the end and after that both the reigning men's champion - Wayne Warren - and the reigning women's champion - Mikuru Suzuki - were eliminated.
Wayne Warren had big double trouble and lost despite his good scoring to Cameron Menzies. Mikuru Suzuki played a first strong set but couldn't keep up after the break while her opponent Aileen de Graaf returned from the break improved and won the match. Especially impressive was Belgian Andy Baetens who won 3:0 against Scott Marsh - who did nothing wrong - with the third highest average which was ever played in Lakeside.

Premier League - Van Gerwen wins in Leeds
Michael van Gerwen celebrated in Leeds his third day win of the season. He defeated in the final James Wade with 6:1. Van Gerwen had in the quarterfinals a bye as his opponent Gary Anderson had to withdraw due to a positive Covid-19 test. In the semi-finals he prevailed in mediocre match 6:3 over Peter Wright before he played in the final with 103.87 the highest average of the night. James Wade won in the quarterfinals a close match against Gerwyn Price and defeated in a high class semifinal Jonny Clayton with 6:4.

Premier League - Ninth League Day
The ninth League Day of Premier League tonight will be played in Leeds.
Gary Anderson was tested positive on Covid-19 and can't play tonight. His quarterfinal opponent Michael van Gerwen gets a bye and progresses into the semi-finals. Michael Smith will meet in the first quarterfinal Peter Wright, after that Joe Cullen will play against Jonny Clayton - the winner of the last league day. In the last quarterfinal James Wade will play against Gerwyn Price.

WDF World Championships - Tag 5
The fifth day of the WDF World Championships was a day of highclass matches. In the men's event the second round was played to the end and the first two third round matches took place. In the women's event two more second round matches were played.
There were some upsets - the women's number 1 seed Deta Hedman was knocked out by Australian Tori Kewish. The as well seeded Leonard Gates disappointed and lost to Steve Hine. Luke Littler had in the first third round match against an on the night outstanding Richard Veenstra no chance at all - Veenstra played with 104.91 a new Lakeside record average. In the other third round match an impressive Brian Raman clearly prevailed over Jarred Cole. Another highlight was the postponed second round match between reigning champion Wayne Warren and Lee Shewan. Warren had a very slow start and was 0:2 behind. But he turned the match around, suddenly hit everything and won the last three sets of the match - a great closure af a really good day in Lakeside.

Today in the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green the WDF World Championships will continue. Again in the afternoon-session three men's and one women's second round matches will take place. In the evening-session today beside the women's second round match two men's second round matches and two men's third round matches will be played as last nights last match had to be moved to today due to a production technical failure.
In the women's event today Deta Hedman and Lorraine Winstanley will have their first appearance, in the men's event with Luke Littler, Brian Raman and Jarred Cole three players will stand at the oche who impressed with their tournament performances so far.

On the fourth day from the seeded players Anca Zijlstra uand Jules van Dongen were eliminated from the tournament.
All in all it was not really a day of high-class performances. The highest average played Cameron Menzies in the afternoon-session at his win over Ian Jones with 89.21.

WDF World Championships
Today in the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green the second round of the WDF World Championships will continue. Again an afternoon and an evening session will be played both with three men's and one women's match each.
In the last match tonight the last BDO World Champion Wayne Warren will stand against Lee Shewan at the oche who defeated in the first round Jordan Brooks.

WDF World Championships - Day 3
On the third day of the WDF World Championships in Lakeside the second round of the women and the men started and the seeded players joined the tournament. From the seeded men Aaron Turner and Anthony Allen were eliminated from the event - their opponents Jim McEwan and Jarred Cole, who already impressed in the first round, were just too strong. Corrine Hammond only played one strong leg but was all in all no match for her unseeded opponent Rhian O'Sullivan. The other seeded players progressed with varying performances into the next round. Most convincing were the just 15 year old Luke Littler and the number 1 seed Brian Raman. The scarcely highest averages in both the men's and the women's event played with Rhian O'Sullivan and Jim McEwan two unseeded players.

Jansen, van Gerwen and Searle win in Barnsley
At the weekend in Barnsley three more Players Championships took place and there were with Danny Jansen, Michael van Gerwen and Ryan Searle three different winners.
Players Championship 9 on Friday had with Danny Jansen a surprise winner - Jansen only got a Tour Card in January. He defeated in the final Andrew Gilding, who for the first time since 2014 reached a Pro Tour final. In the semi-finals stood Dave Chisnall and Danny Noppert.
On Saturday Michael van Gerwen won Players Championship 10 with a comeback against Peter Wright. The semi-finals reached Damon Heta and Jose des Sousa.
At the 11. Players Championship on Sunday an impressive Ryan Searle won the title, he defeated in the final Nathan Aspinall. In the semi-finals stood Rob Cross and - for the second time at the weekend - Dave Chisnall.
Madars Razma and Simon Whitlock threw during the weekend a Nine-Darter.

WDF World Championships
On Saturday and Sunday in the Lakeside Country Club the first rounds of the women and the men were played.
Though the perfomances of many players had some room for improvement, there were several good matches and some upsets. The so far best performance showed Jim McEwan with a 101.32 average. The debut of the Connor Scutt - a PDC Tour Card Holder since January and for some one of the favourites to win the event - disappointed. He lost due to some double trouble against the more consistent Canadian Shawn Burt. Martin Adams was eliminated by the upcoming player Jarred Cole.
Stage nerves showed even more in the women's matches. Welsh Rhian O'Sullivan played with 85.89 the so far outstanding average. Beside O'Sullivan only Veronika Ihasz and Mikuru Suzuki played an average of over 70.
Today both for women and men the second round will begin in which the first round winners will play against the seeds. In the evening session the men's number 1 Brian Raman, by now a PDC Tour Card Holder, will play against the former PDC player Jonny Haines.

As well at the weekend in Hildesheim, Germany, a Challenge Tour weekend with five events took place.
There were five different winners: Scott Williams, Stefan Bellmont, Stephen Burton, Danny van Trijp and Andy Jenkins. For Scott Williams it was already the third win this year and he heads the ranking table.

WDF World Championships
Today in the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green the inaugural WDF World Championships will begin.
There will be an afternoon- and an evening session and in each two women's and four men's first round matches will be played. Only unseeded players will stand at the oche in the first round.
As the WDF World Championships had to be postponed till after the PDC Qualifying School this year there is a special regulation: players already qualified for the World Championship before the Qualifying School and who got a Tour Card in Q School nevertheless can take part in the World Championship. Not all concerned players will use the chance but Brian Raman, Leonard Gates, Jules van Dongen, Cameron Menzies, Nick Fullwell and Connor Scutt take part first in the Players Championships in Barnsley at the weekend and then in the WDF World Championship.
Number 1 seeds are Deta Hedman in the women's event and Brian Raman in the men's event.

Premier League - Clayton wins in Birmingham
Jonny Clayton celebrated on the eighth day of Premier League his second stage win. He defeated in the final James Wade with 6:1 and had with 111.16 the highest average of the night.
Clayton defeated in the quarterfinale a strong playing Michael Smith and prevailed in the quarterfinals over Peter Wright. James Wade eliminated in the quarterfinals an unconcentrated Michael van Gerwen and defeated in the semi-finals Joe Cullen but couldn't keep up his good performances in the final.

Premier League - Eighth League Day
The eighth League Day of Premier League will take place tonight in Birmingham.
Joe Cullen, winner of the seventh League Day, will play in the second quarterfinal against Gerwyn Price who will stand on stage despite a fracture in his throwing hand. In the first quarterfinal head of the table Michael van Gerwen will play against last in the table James Wade. Beside we will see in the quarterfinals an all Scottish clash between Peter Wright and Gary Anderson and in the last quarterfinal Jonny Clayton will meet Michael Smith.

Price and van Gerwen win in Niedernhausen
Gerwyn Price won on Saturday Players Championship 7, he defeated in the final Madars Razma with 8:4. The semi-finals on Saturday reached Rob Cross and Kevin Doets.
On sunday Michael van Gerwen was the winner of the eigth Players Championship, in the finale he prevailed over Martin Schindler who had an outstanding day. In the semi-finals stood Adrian Lewis and Luke Humphries.

Pro Tour Weekend Niederhausen
Tomorrow in Niedernhausen, Germany, the next Players Championship weekend will begin. On Saturday and Sunday Players Championships 7 and 8 will be played.
Numerous Tour Card holders will not play in Niedernhausen - among them Premier League players like Gary Anderson and Jonny Clayton. Players from the Challenge Tour Order of Merit will move up.

Premier League - Win for Cullen in Rotterdam
Joe Cullen defeated in a close final in Rotterdam local favourite Michael van Gerwen with 6:5 and for the first time was the day winner. For van Gerwen first all went according to plan - after a close win over Michael Smith in the hard fought quarterfinal and a semi-final win over Jonny Clayton he stood in the final. But there he couldn't get rid of the double trouble he already experienced in his other matches in Rotterdam while Cullen was clinical on his doubles. His finishing had before helped Cullen to defeat Gary Anderson in the quarterfinals. In the semi-finals he won another close but from both players weak match against Peter Wright with 4:6. Gerwyn Price lost the all Welsh quarterfinal against Jonny Clayton and as James Wade, Gary Anderson and Michael Smith couldn't win a point on the seventh League Day.

Pro Tour wins for Williams and Heta
At the Pro Tour weekend in Barnsley both Damon Heta and Jim Williams won a Players Championship.
Heta won on Saturday Players Championship 5 and defeated in the final Gary Anderson. Joe Cullen and Dimitri van den Bergh stood in the semi-finals. On Sunday Jim Williams got his first Pro Tour title, he won the sixth Players Championship and defeated in the final Ricky Evans. The semi-finals reached Martin Schindler and Danny Noppert.
During the weekend Josh Rock, Joe Cullen and Danny Noppert threw a nine-darter.

Premier League - Anderson wins in Nottingham
Gary Anderson defeated in the final of the sixth League Day Michael Smith and for the first time was the day winner. In doing so he played with 104.24 the highest average of the League Day which he started with a close win over Jonny Clayton and a not even 90 average. He improved a lot in the semifinals against Peter Wright. Michael Smith defeated on his way into the final in a fulminant opener James Wade and prevailed in the semi-finals with a strong comeback over Gerwyn Price. Price had already been ahead 4:1 but then lost the thread completely and Smith won the match 6:4. Michael van Gerwen lost after two day wins this time already in the quarterfinals to Gerwyn Price but stays at the head of the table.

WDF Results
In January and February already several WDF tournaments took place. in some of them participants of the upcoming WDF World Championship were successfull. For example Romanian Laszlo Kadar, a debutant in the World Championship, won the Slovak Open and defeated in the final Scott Marsh, another player who will give his debut in Lakeside. The women's event was won by Jo Clements who is a participant as well. The Slovak Masters were won by Neil Duff and Laura Turner. In the youth events Hungarian Rajmund Papp and Czech Matyas Rejhon prevailed. Leonard Gates, one of the seeds of the World Championship, and Paula Murphy were the winners of the Camellia Classic in California, Carson Buchmiller won the youth event. At the Reykjavik International Games John Scott and Margaret Sutton won the titles. The Las Vegas Open were won by Jim Widmayer and Julie Weger. Winner of both the Udmurtia Open and the Kalashnikov Open was Aleksey Kadochnikov, who as Russian was withdrawn from the World Championship by now.

WDF World Championships
The war between Russia and the Ukraine has an impact on the WDF World Championships. Russian players Elena Shulgina, Anastasia Dobromyslova, Aleksey Kadochnikov and Roman Obukhov were withdrawn from the tournament. Dobromyslova, who was the number 2 see in the women's event, will be replaced by Fallon Sherrock. For the as well seeded Kadochnikov American Leonard Gates moves up. Shulgina will be replaced in the women's event by Jo Clements, Obhukov by New Zealand's Landon Gardiner, who first had declined the invitation to take part in the World Championship. New in the field of participants is Englishman John Scott, who now will play instead of Gates in the first round against Johnny Haines.

Van Gerwen wins in Hildesheim
For the first time since 2019 Michael van Gerwen could celebrate a win on the European Tour - he won in Hildesheim the European Darts Championship with a 8:5 defeat of Rob Cross.
Before van Gerwen had a bye in the quarterfinals after Peter Wright had withdrawn unexpectedly due to a back injury from the tournament. In the semifinals the Dutchman prevailed in a close match against Dimitri van den Bergh. Cross reached the final with wins over Karel Sedlacek in teh quarterfinals and Daryl Gurney in the semi-finals.

On the second day Lisa Ashton and Fallon Sherrock shared the wins. Sherrock won the third event with a 5:3 win over Joanne Locke, Ashton won event four defeating Fallon Sherrock in the final 5:4.
Lisa Ashton heads the ranking after the first weekend followed by Fallon Sherrock pn second place and Rhian Griffiths, who showed good performances as well, in third place.
The Women's Series will continue 30. April/1.May in Wigan.

German Darts Championship
Today in Hildesheim the German Darts Championship will be played to the end. In the afternoon-session the third round will be played, in the evening-session quarterfinals, semi-finals and final will take place.
From the seeded players yesterday Gabriel Clemens, Damon Heta, Luke Humphries, Callan Rydz and Chris Dobey were eliminated. The highest averages of the second round played Michael van Gerwen, Martin Lukeman and Damon Heta who lost with the so far highest average of the event of 108.82 a close match against Lukeman.

Today in Barnsley this year's PDC Women's Series will begin. Both on Saturday and on Sunday two events will be played.

German Darts Championship
On the second day of the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim the seeded players enter the tournament and will play against the first round winners.
From the German qualifiers only Martin Schindler survived the first round and will play tonight against the new world number 1 Peter Wright. Michael van Gerwen - who won impressively last Thursday in the PRemier League - will play tonight against Jose Justicia. Yesterday was quite a strange day as in many of the first round matches the player with the higher average lost among them Nathan Rafferty who played with 99.41 the highest average of the first day.

German Darts Championship
Today in Hildesheim, Germany, the German Darts Championship will begin. It is the second event of this year's European Tour.
As always in the first round only qualifiers will stand at the oche - among them with Martin Schindler, Niko Springer and Lukas Wenig three German players.
Gerwyn Price, Brendan Dolan and Ted Evetts had to withdraw from the tournament. Due to this reigning champion Devon Petersen, Mensur Suljovic and Jamie Hughes got a bye for the first round.

Premier League - Van Gerwen wins in Brighton too
Michael van Gerwen was the winner of the League Day in Brighton as well, he dedated in the final Michael Smith - who got into his stride too late - with 6:4. Van Gerwen is the first winner who won two League Days so far. By this he now heads the table. On his way to the final van Gerwen defeated in the quarterfinals James Wade and prevailed in the semi-finals over Joe Cullen who had no chance at all. Michael Smith reached the final after a clear 6:1 win in the quarterfinals over Gary Anderson and a 6:2 win in the semi-finals against Jonny Clayton.

Today the fifth League Day will take place in Brighton.
For the first time Peter Wright will stand as the number 1 of the world on stage - he will play in the second quarterfinal against Jonny Clayton. World Series of Darts 2022
The PDC announced/confirmed the dates of the World Series of Darts 2022.
The World Series will consist 2022 of six international events. Three of them, the U.S.Darts Masters, the Nordic Darts Masters and a not yet known event, will be played in June, the other three tournaments in Australia and New Zealand will follow in August. The final will take place in Amsterdam from 16. - 18. September.
It was as well announced that Jeff Smith, Danny Baggish, Matt Campbell and Jules van Dongen will be among the participants of the U.S.Darts Masters.

At the weekend in Budapest four Eastern Europe Qualifier were played. All four were won by Czech Karel Sedlacek who by this will stand at the oche in Hildesheim, Munic, Graz and Leverkusen.
So now the fields of participants of the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim and the German Darts Grand Prix in Munic are complete.



World Seniors Darts Masters
In May the next big event of the World Seniors Darts Tour will take place - the World Seniors Darts Masters. It will be played from 27. - 29. May in the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green.
Most participants are known and the draw for the first two rounds of the tournament already took place. In April the last places in the tournament will be on grab in a qualifier.

Danny Noppert wins UK Open
Danny Noppert defeated Michael Smith in the final of the UK Open with 11:10 and wins his first Major title. In accordance to his performances during the tournament Smith was the favourite to win when the final started but he couldn't keep up and couldn't get rid of Noppert either who kept his nerve in the deciding leg and took his chance after Smith was not able to hit the winning double.
On finals day Smith first prevailed over Gerwyn Price and then defeated in the semi-finals Keane Barry. Noppert reached the final with wins over Damon Heta and William O'Connor.
Due to the results Peter Wright is now the new number 1 of the PDC while Michael van Gerwen slipped down to number five in the PDC Order of Merit.

UK Open - Finals Day
On the final day of the tournament in Minehead in the afternoon-session the quarterfinals will be played. In the evening-session semi-finals and final will take place.
Eliminated were on the second day of the tournament with Peter Wright, Michael van Gerwen and Jonny Clayton three players out of the group of favourites to win the event. The all in all surprising quarterfinal pairings are: Keane Barry v James Wade, Sebastian Bialecki v William O'Connor, Danny Noppert v Damon Heta and Michael Smith v Gerwyn Price. Yesterday both Michael Smith and James Wade threw a nine-darter.

UK Open - Day 2
Today the fourth and fifth round will be played in Minehead in an afternoon and an evening session.
Reigning champion James Wade, who yesterday impressed with an 105.58 average in the fourth round, will play in the last afternoon match on the second stage against Ron Meulenkamp. Dimitri van den Bergh, Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price will all play on the main stage.

UK Open - Day 1

On the first day of the UK Open in the afternoon session the first three rounds will take place. After that there will be a new draw for the fourth round which will be played in the evening-session. The top 32 will enter the tournament in the fourth round - among them reigning champion James Wade.

Premier League - Van Gerwen wins in Exeter
Michael van Gerwen defeated in the final of the League Day in Exeter Peter Wright with 6:0. It was his first stage victory in this year's Premier League. All his three matches were highclass while Wright was not as strong in the final as he had been in his first two matches. Wright now heads the table and replaced Jonny Clayton who today already lost his first match and now sits in third place. Michael Smith won against Joe Cullen and got his first two points in the table.

For the fourth league day the Premier League today comes to Exeter.
In the quarterfinals first head of the table Jonny Clayton will play against Michael van Gerwen. In the following match Michael Smith meets in the hunt for a first point Joe Cullen. On Friday in Butlin's Resort in Minehead this year's UK Open will begin..
The draw for the first to the third round - which will be played in the afternoon session on Friday - already took place. All other draws will be made in Minehead after each completed round. All Tour Card holders - with the exception of Boris Koltsov and Michael Unterbuchner - and players who qualified by the Challenge Tour, the Development Tour and the Riley's amateur qualifiers will take part. The Tour Card holders enter the tournament according to their rank in the PDC Order of Merit, the top 32 will not enter until the fourth round Friday night.

Price wins in Riesa
Gerwyn Price won the International Darts Open in Riesa - the first event of the European Tour 2022. In the final he defeated Peter Wright with 8:4. Both players played in the final an average of over 106, but Price much mor clinical on his doubles. Before Price defeated on teh final day of the tournament Damon Heta, Danny Noppert and Nathan Aspinall. Wright reached the final with wins over Niko Spinger - the last German player still in the tournament -, Michael Smith and Jonny Clayton. Michael van Gerwen was eliminated third round by Danny Noppert.

International Darts Open - Day 2
On the second day of the International Darts Open in Riesa the seeded players join the tournament and play against yesterday's winners.
From the seven German participans only Niko Springer and Nico Kurz survived the first round. Niko Springer will play today in the afternoon session against Brendan Dolan while Nico Kurz will meet tonight Dirk van Duijvenbode. Biggest upsets on day 1 were the elimination of Rob Cross and Ryan Searle. The best players yesterday were Vincent van der Voort and Dimitri van den Bergh - both with an average of over 100 - who will play today against James Wade and Mensur Suljovic respectively.

Today is the first day of the International Darts Open Riesa in Germany.
All seven German participans will stand on stage, three in the afternoon session and four in the evening session. But some wellknown PDC players - among them Daryl Gurney, Simon Whitlock, Vincent van der Voort and Dimitri van den Bergh - will play in the first round as well.

International Darts Open
Tomorrowin Riesa the PDC European Tour starts with the International Darts Open into the season 2022 in which thirteen events will be played. As always on the European Tour on the first day only the qualifiers will stand at the oche. On the second day the seeded players will play against the first round winners. On the third day the third round, the quarterfinals, semifinals and the final will take place. On all three days an afternoon-and an evening session will be played.
Today in Riesa the Home National Qualifier took place and Fabian Schmutzler, Niko Springer, David Schlichting, Dragutin Horvat and Nico Kurz qualified for the event.

By the Associate Members Qualifiers for Hildesheim Stefan Bellmont and Gian van Veen qualified and for Munic Wesley Plaisier and Thomas Junghans. UK Open
At the weekend the last Riley's amateur qualifiers for the UK Open were played. The last seven places in the tournament won Ryan Murray, Ryan Harrington, Paul Marsh, Scott Taylor, Dan Read, Mark Rice and Prakash Jiwa. Marsh is the only UK Open debutant among those seven players.The field of participants now is complete.
The draw will take place on Monday, 28. February.

PDC Development Tour
At at the weekend in Wigan the first Development Tour weekend took place during which five events were played. Dominating player was Northern Irish Josh Rock, who only in January in Qualifying School got a Tour Card. He won two of the events and beside reached a final. The other winners were Bradley Brooks, Keane Barry and Kevin Doets. Rock now heads the ranking followed by Brooks and Doets on the places 2 and 3.

Premier League - Outstanding Price wins in Belfast
Gerwyn Price the third Premier League day in Belfast, threw both in the semi-finals and in the final a nine-darter and won his quarterfinal against Michael Smith with a 170 finish. Beside he played in two of his matches an average of over 108. As well with strong performances convinced James Wade, who lost in the final 4:6 to Price. The two semi-finalist were Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright, who as well collected some points for the table.

This weekend a Pro Tour Wochenende takes place in Wigan. It started yesterday with the Tour Card Qualifiers for the European Tour Events 2 and 3 in Hildesheim and Munic.
Today the third Players Championship will be played, tomorrow Players Championship 4 will follow.
Chris Dobey, Kim Huybrechts, Jermaine Wattimena, Alan Soutar, Dave Chinsnall and Scott Waites were the six players who qualified both for Hildesheim and Munic.

Premier League - Clayton wins League Day
Jonny Clayton reached on the second League Day again the final where he this time met Joe Cullen. But tonight he won it 6:4 and now heads the league table. Before he won a highclass semi-final with an unbelievable comeback against Michael van Gerwen who collected his first two points. In the very similar other semi-final Joe Cullen defeated Gerwyn Price as well with a strong comeback. The only player without a point after the second League Day is Michael Smith who lost despite a good performance in the quarterfinals to Jonny Clayton.

Wins for Humphries and Wright in Barnsley
The first two Players Championships of the year were won by Luke Humphries and Peter Wright.
At the first Players Championship on Saturday Luke Humphries won his maiden seniors title, he defeated in the final Ryan Searle with 8:4. In the semi-finals stood Peter Wright and Daryl Gurney.
The second Players Championship on Sunday was won by Peter Wright who defeated in the final Gerwyn Price. The semi-finals reached Boris Krcmar and Damon Heta. Ian White threw in the first round against Mensur Suljovic a nine-darter but lost the match.

World Seniors Darts Championship
Robert Thornton won the first World Seniors Darts Champion title. He defeated in the final Martin Adams with 5:1. So the best player won the tournament deservedly while Adams just in the final for the first time had problems to hit his doubles.
Before Thornton defeated in the semi-finals Kevin Painter and Martin Adams prevailed over Terry Jenkins. Phil Taylor, who went as favourite in the tournament, lost in the quarterfinals to Kevin Painter.

Today in Barnsley the first Pro Tour weekend of the year will begin. Today and tomorrow the Players Championships 1 + 2 will tak place. Absent Tour Card Holders at the weekend are Nathan Aspinall, Danny Noppert, Zoran Lerchbacher and Michael Unterbuchner.

Yesterday at the World Seniors Darts Championship in the afternoon session the first round was played to the end. In the eveneing session the first four matches of the second round took place.
In the first round Dave Prins, John Walton, Larry Butler and Terry Jenkins won against Paul Lim, Les Wallace, Alan Warriner-Little and Roland Scholten. The best performance showed Dave Prins.
In the second round in the evening session with Phil Taylor, Martin Adams, Trina Gulliver and Wayne Warren four World Champions stood at the oche. Really convincing of those was only Martin Adams at his 3:2 win over Richie Howson. Adams impressed especially with his finishing. Phil Taylor won against Peter Manley but was far from his former best. Trina Gulliver and Wayne Warren lost to Robert Thornton and Kevin Painter, who both showed a strong performance.

Premier League - Wright wins first League Day
Peter Wright defeated in the final of the first League Day Jonny Clayton with 6:1 and got as winner five points for the table and a 10 000 pound bonus. Clayton as runner-up got three points. World Seniors Darts Championship
The first night of the World Seniors Darts Championship was not yet really convincing as most players showed fighting spirit but their performances were rather patchy. A really good performance only showed Robert Thornton who defeated in the first match Bob Anderson with 3:0. Peter Manley defeated in a from both players weak match Deta Hedman with 3:1, both only from time to time showed flashes of their abilities. Kevin Painter and Tony O'Shea started quite well but run out of steam near the end. Painter won 3:2. Darryl Fitton in the last match of the night was surprisingly poor and more had to fight with himself then with his opponent Richie Howson. Howson who qualified by the qualifiers for the event, got more steady throughout the match and won 3:2.

This year again the Corona pandemic has an impact on the Premier League. While by now all quarterfinal-fixtures of the League Nights were published only the the venues and the dates for the first six League Nights are known.
The scheduled night on 24. February in Berlin was now postponed to 13. June - an evidence that Premier League this year again will be played over a longer period then first planned.

PDC Women's World Matchplay

The PDC announced a Women's World Matchplay which will take place with eight players on 24. July in Blackpool.
The women can qualify by the price money they earn in the first three Women's Series of the year in March, April and June.

WDF World Championships
The WDF now published the new schedule of the event. All in all seven participants in the men's event in the meantime got a Tour Card in the PDC Qualifying School: Nick Fullwell, Cameron Menzies, Ross Montgomery, Brian Raman, Connor Scutt, Mario Vandenbogaerde and Jules van Dongen. Due to a special agreement with the PDC they are allowed to take part in the WDF World Championships nevertheless. Ross Montgomery and Mario Vandenbogaerde decided to abstain and for them Roman Obukhov and Donovan Lottering move into the field of participants by the regional WDF tables. Aaron Turner as the highest ranked unseeded participant will now move up in the seeded players and will play instead of Montgomery in the second round against the winner of the first round match between Roman Obukhov and Jim McEwan.
The tournament will be opened on 2. April 2022 with the match between the three times BDO World Champion Martin Adams and Jarred Cole. In the women's event Paula Jacklin will play against Rhian O'Sullivan in the first match.

The PDC today announced the eight participants in this years Premier League which will begin on Thursday with the first League Night in Cardiff. Beside the Top 6 of the PDC Order of Merit Gerwyn Price, Peter Wright, Michael van Gerwen, James Wade, Michael Smith and Gary Anderson last year's winner Jonny Clayton and Joe Cullen, who only yesterday won The Masters, were invited. At the weekend in Slangerup in Denmark the first two events of this year's PDC Nordic and Baltic Tour took place. On Saturday Dane Vladimir Andersen was the winner, on Sunday Latvian Madars Razma. Beside the qualifiers for European Tour events 2 + 3 in Events Germany and Belgium were played. For ET 2 in Hildesheim in Germany Marko Kantele qualified, for ET 3 in Wieze in Belgium it was Daniel Larsson.

Rileys Qualifiers UK Open
At the weekend the first three of 16 Rileys Amateur Qualifiers for UK Open in March were played. All three events were won by players who are already known from PDC events and who took part this month in the PDC Qualifying School but couldn't get a Tour Card. In Chorlton the winner was American Danny Lauby Jnr, in London Victoria Brazilian Diogo Portela won and in Chester Kai Fan Leung from Hong Kong.

Winmau instead of Unicorn
As the PDC announced from now on and for five years till 2027 all PDC events will be played on Winmau Dartboards. Used will be the new Winmau Blade 6 Triple Core Dartboard which came on the market in 2021. Special features of the boards are an anti-glare number ring and new graphics. Both the PDC chairman Eddie Hearn and Winmau's managing director Vincent Bluck welcomed the deal. The Winmau Boards will be used for the first time in Premier League next Thursday.

Cullen wins The Masters
Joe Cullen kept up yesterday's performance and won the final of the Masters with a close 11:9 win over Dave Chisnall. After an evenly matched start Cullen managed in the middle to get a clear lead but then couldn't hit the winning double in ten attempts and Chisnall got closer and closer. But in the end Cullen hit the double 18 for the win.
Cullen defeated on finals day Michael van Gerwen in the quarterfinals and Jose de Sousa in the semi-finals. Chisnall reached the final with wins over Michael Smith and Jonny Clayton.

The Masters Day 2
Yesterday the second round of the tournament was played, in which the seeds played against the first round winners. Biggest upset of the first round was the elimination of world champion Peter Wright who was defeated by Simon Whitlock. Beside Wright from the seeds as well Gary Anderson and James Wade were eliminated. Joe Cullen had with 106.30 the highest average of the night and demolished his opponent Gary Anderson. Michael van Gerwens only just won over Luke Humphries who had several matchdarts.

The Masters Day 1
The first night of the Masters was mostly a night of one-sided matches and many players experienced some double-trouble. The tournament was opened with the only hard fought match in which Krzysztof Ratajski won 6:5 against Gabriel Clemens who had missed with seven match-darts. While Simon Whitlock used his chance as replacement and progressed with an 100.34 average and a 2:6 win into the second round, the as well moved up Devon Petersen had no chance against Luke Humphries. The highest average of the night played Dimitri van den Bergh with 105.31 - he defeated Ian White who had an over 100 average too with 6:1.

The Masters
Today in Milton Keynes the PDC Masters will begin in which the Top 24 of the Order of Merit after the PDC World Championship take part.
Tonight the first round will be played and the unseeded players ranked 9 - 24 will stand at the oche. Tomorrow in an afternoon- and an evening session the seeded Top eight will play against tonight's winners. The tournament will be opened by the match between Gabriel Clemens and Krzysztof Ratajski. Reigning champion Jonny Clayton will play tomorrow night against the winner of the first round match Dimitri van den Bergh v Ian White.

PDC Awards
Peter Wright was named "Player of the year 2021". Jonny Clayton got the "PDPA Player of the Year" and "Fans Player of the Year" awards. Michael Smith was awarded for the "Televised Performance of the Year" (Fourth Round win at the PDC World Championship over Jonny Clayton). Gerwyn Price was awared "Pro Tour Player of the Year". Alan Soutar is the "Best Newcomer of the Year" and Rusty-Jake Rodriguez the "Unicorn Young Player of the Year". Beside a range of players were welcomed in the PDC Nine-Dart Club for the nine-dartes they threw in a PDC event last year.

PDC no longer on Unicorn Boards
As one can read on the Unicorn Homepage Unicorn will be no longer the dartbaord sponsor of the PDC after The Masters. Instead Unicorn will start the campaign "For Every Player" to get more people to play darts.
Who will provide the PDC - after 25 years with Unicorn - in future with dart boards and whether that means all cooperation between the PDC and Unciorn comes to the end is not yet known.

Due to the ongoing problems with the elbow and the wrist of his throwing arm Nathan Aspinall decided to withdraw from the Masters.
He will be replaced by the South African Devon Petersen as the next ranked not qualified player. Petersen will play instead of Aspinall in the first round against Luke Humphries.

At the Uk Qualifying School Northern Irish Josh Rock won the final on day 4 with 6:3 against his fellow countryman Nathan Rafferty and with it a Tour Card. In the semi-finals stood Ted Evetts and Matthew Edgar. By the UK Qualifying School Order of Merit Jamie Clark, Ted Evetts, Connor Scutt, Richie Burnett, Kevin Burness, Scott Waites, Nathan Rafferty, Cameron Menzies, John O'Shea, George Killington, Mickey Mansell, Nick Fullwell and Shaun Wilkinson won a Tour Card.
Krzysztof Kiuk won the final on the fourth day of the final stage of the European Qualifying School in Niedernhausen against Tony Martinez with 6:3 and got the last direct Tour Card. The PDC changes after seventeen seasons of the tournament this year the format completely. Instead of the so far used league format with home and away matches, a Judgement night in which two players are eliminated from the tournament and the Play-Offs in which the top four of the league ranking take part, this year on each of the sixteen league nights an event with quarterfinals, semifinals and final will be played. In this format as well the eight players taking part will face each other twice in the quarterfinals while on days eight and sixteen the players will face off again in a draw bracket based on the league table following Night Seven and Night 15 respectively.
According to the results the players will be awarded with ranking points: the night's winners will get five points and a 10 000-pound bonus, the runner-ups will get three points and the semi-finalists two points each. As before the top four of the ranking will take part in the Play-Offs.

PDC Qualifying School - Montgomery and Peters win Tour Cards
On the third day of the Uk Qualifiying School Ross Montgomery defeated Jamie Clark in the final with 6:2 and got the dirct Tour Card of the day. John O'Shea and Kevin Burness stood in the semi-finals.
At the European Qualifying School in Niedernhausen Dutchman Luc Peters defeated Belgian Mario Vandenbogaerde 6:4 and got the automatic Tour Card. With Kevin Doets and Danny Jansen two more Dutchman reached the semi-finals.



14. Januar
PDC Qualifying School - Final Stage Day 3
Both in Milton Keynes and in Niederhausen, Germany, the final stage of Qualifying School continues with Day 3. Again the respective winners of the day in both venues will get an automatic Tour Card.

PDC Qualifying School -Tour Cards for Webster and Raman
In the Uk Qualifiying School on the second day of the final stage Darren Webster reclaimed with his 6:1 win over Scott Waites in the final his Tour Card, which he only lost end of last year. The reigning Youth World Champion Ted Evetts and Jamie Clark stood in the semi-finals.
At the European Qualifying School in Niedernhausen Belgian Brian Raman defeated in the final American Jules van Dongen 6:4 and got the automatic Tour Card. In the semi-finals stood German Lukas Wenig and Dutchman Kevin Doets.

PDC Qualifying School - Wilson and Justicia win Tour Cards
In the Uk Qualifiying School on the first day of the final stage James Wilson reclaimed with his 6:1 win over Cameron Menzies in the final his Tour Card, which he had lost end of last year. The former Welsh world champion Richie Burnett and George Killington reached the semi-finals.
In European Qualifying School in Niedernhausen Jose Justicia reclaimed with a 6:0 win over Belgian Mario Vandenboagaerde his Tour Card which he had lost two years ago.Denmark's Vladimir Andersen and Dutchman Damian Mol stood in the semi-finals.

PDC Qualifying School - Final Stage
Today both in Milton Keynes and in Niederhausen, Germany, the final stage of Qualifying School will begin. All in all 32 Tour Cards are on offer whereby the respective winners of the day in both venues will get an automatic Tour Card. The other Tour Cards werden will be awarded on a pro-rata basis to players from the UK/European Qualifying School Final Stage Orders of Merit after day four of the Final Stage.

11. January
PDC Qualifying School
Today is the last day of the first stage of Qualifying School. Both in Milton Keynes as Niederhausen eight players will progress direct into the finale stage of Qualifying School. Still open places in the 128 players field of the final stages of the two Qualifying Schools will be filled by the respective Q-School Order of Merit.

The Masters

Danny Noppert has withdrawn from the Masters to remain with his partner for the birth of their first child.
Under the PDC rules he will be replaced by Simon Whitlock who now will play in his stead in the first round against Dirk van Duijvenbode.

PDC Qualifying School

Yesterday this year's PDC Qualifiying School and both in Milton Keynes as Niederhausen, Germany, the first stage of the tournament is played.
By it those players qualify who will compete in the Final Stage from 12. January to win one of the 32 Tour Cards which are on offer this year.

8. January
The Masters
The Masters will take place this year from 28. - 30. January in the Marshall Arene in Milton Keynes. The Top acht of the PDC Order of Merit are seeded in will enter the tournament in the second round.
The PDC now published the detailed schedule of the first and the second round. The tournament will be opened by the first round match between Gabriel Clemens and Krzysztof Ratajski. Reigning champion Jonny Clayton will begin his battle to defend the titel in the second round against the winner of the first round match between Dimitri van den Bergh and Ian White while the new world champion Peter Wright will play his first match against the winner of the all-Dutch first round match between Dirk van Duijvenbode and Danny Noppert.

PDC Qualifying School
This year the PDC Qualifying School will again played as an UK and an EU Qualifying School. Both will be played in two stages whereby in the Final Stage beside the qualifiers from the first stage those players will take part who either lost their Tour Cards at the end of last year or who were ranked 2-8 in the Challenge Tour or Development Tour Orders of Merit at the end of last years season.
The first stage of both Qualifying Schools will take place from 9.- 11. January, the final stage afterwards from 12. - 15. January. For the first stage more then 650 players registered. In the final stage 32 Tour Cards are on offer.

4. January
Wright wins second World Champion title
In a very evenly matched final Peter Wright won 7:5 against Michael Smith and got the World Champion title for the second time. Wright won the first two sets of the match but Smith managed to draw. In the next few sets it looked Smith was on the inside track till he was 5:4 in the lead. But with a 12-darter in the deciding leg Wright levelled 5:5 and he started a brutal final while Smith gave up. Wright won first the following set 3:0 for a 6:5 lead and lost in the next and last set only one leg before he hit with his first matchdart double 8 for the win.

3. January
PDC World Championship - Semi-Finals
On day 15 of the World Championship the two semi-finals took place. In the first semi-final Michael Smith had not too many problems to prevail 6:3 over James Wade who had a slow start in the match but managed to improve. In the second semi-final it was Peter Wright who had the much better start but Gary Anderson fought back strongly. In the deciding leg of the tenth set Wright kept his nerve and prevented that Anderson drew 5:5. Wright won 6:4.
Tomorrow night the final will take place in which Michael Smith will play against Peter Wright.

It is this time of the year - Christmas and New Year in Wales
In the last article we follow Gerwyn PRice, Jonny Clayton and the other already before Christmas eliminated Welsh players in their home country.
Though Wales is part of the United Kingdom it retained some standalone traditions.

PDC World Championship - Day 14
The two sessions on the 14. day, in which two quarterfinals each were played, were completely different. The two quarterfinals in the afternoon were one-sided. James Wade won a from both players under par match against Mervyn King 5:0. After that a during the match improving Gary Anderson won 5:2 against Luke Humphries.
In the evening session both matches were hard fought. Peter Wright needed all his expercience to win 5:4 over debutant Callan Rydz. In the last quarterfinal Gerwyn Price and Michael Smith met and it was a very intense highclass match in which Price won a nine-darter but lost in the end 4:5 to Michael Smith.
In the semi-finals first Peter Wright and Gary Anderson will clash before James Wade will stand against Michael Smith at the oche.
